You may have noticed there was a bit of downtime for Fortnite earlier this morning and that’s because Epic introduced the v8.10 patch, which brought with it a whole bunch of changes.

The most significant was probably the addition of the new single seat vehicle the Baller, which was revealed a few days ago and looks to be a ton of fun. Holding just one person, it comes with a boost for speed and a grapple hook on the front to help you maneuver around the map quickly while also engaging in exciting combat with your opponents.

Vending Machines also got tweaked a bit as they now “dispense things free of charge but only provide one item/weapon before disappearing,” and a few guns like the Infantry Rifle and Heavy Assault Rifle had some changes made to them as well.

Meanwhile, when it comes to Battle Royale Crossplay Matchmaking, Epic has now combined Xbox One and PS4 pools, which “requires you to opt-in to cross-play” with players opt-ing out finding themselves restricted to Creative Mode and Playgrounds. There’s a lot of additional bug fixes and tweaks that came with the patch, too, and you can see the entire list of changes via the link below.

In other news, we’ve been hearing rumblings of an entirely new map being added to Fortnite in the coming weeks, while Epic is also said to be developing a slew of new weapons that will no doubt cause havoc across Pleasent Park and Sunny Steps and everywhere in between.

With Fortnite Season 8 well underway now, there’s a ton to look forward to and things are just getting started, as there’s also been talk of a respawn feature and a few other bells and whistles waiting in the wings. As always, watch this space for more.
