The Flash Star Provides An Update On Crisis On Infinite Earths

The Arrowverse's yearly crossovers have gotten bigger each and every season, but 2019's promises to be outshine them all. How do we know? The Arrowverse’s yearly crossovers have gotten bigger each and every season, but 2019’s promises to be outshine them all. How do we know? Well, because last fall’s “Elseworlds” teased that this year would bring us “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” which is a title that comes with a lot of baggage in the DC universe.

The classic 1980s comic book event literally shattered the DC multiverse as the world’s finest heroes came together in attempt to save all of reality from the Anti-Monitor. The story arc had huge ramifications for the comics world, so if The CW is adapting it in any way faithfully, it’s sure to ring in some big changes to the Arrowverse, too.

It’s the sort of thing that will take a lot of planning, so it’s no surprise that one of the stars has given us an update on the crossover that reveals the story’s still being mapped out. The Flash‘s Danielle Panabaker spoke to Entertainment Weekly about “Crisis” and explained that it’s going to be bigger than ever, saying:

“Oof. I remember, Mark [Pedowitz, CW president] made an announcement, I think it was at TCAs or something earlier this year, that they were going to be bigger than ever. And I was like ‘Oh. Oh no.’ They are exhausting. They’re a challenge. But guys, we do it for you. We do it for the fans, for sure. I think honestly, I’m not sure how much they’ve broken down the stories yet. The writers room I think just opened for Season 6, maybe yesterday. So they’re barely getting started. So I truly don’t know much.”

Panabaker’s comment about the crossovers being “exhausting” is something that’s been echoed before by other Arrowverse actors. Arrow star Stephen Amell has previously opened up about how tough it is for the cast and crew to basically film a movie on a TV schedule, but also called “Elseworlds” the most fun he’s ever had playing Oliver Queen, so it’s clear that the hard work is worth it in the end.

Though the plot has yet to be fully nailed down, there are many rumors and theories flying around about what “Crisis” will deliver. It’s possible it’ll take a page out of the comic book and merge multiple earths together, moving Supergirl to Earth-1. What’s more, we’re pretty sure that the Green Arrow’s not going to make it out of this battle, as Arrow wraps after its eighth season.

Worlds will live, world will die when “Crisis on Infinite Earths” hits this fall. But in the meantime. the latest seasons of the Arrowverse continue weekly on The CW.
