Game Of Thrones Star Blasts Petition To Remake Season 8

As sad as it might be to admit, there’s no denying it – the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones has been disappointing. Aside from issues with the show’s pacing, fans and critics alike have complained about the overarching plot, characterization, and some rather questionable dialogue. Last week’s episode, “The Bells,” drew widespread criticism from fans and critics alike, especially in regards to the destruction of King’s Landing, as well as a few underwhelming deaths.

In an effort to salvage a show which is near and dear to millions, one passionate viewer decided to set things right. Earlier this week, a Change.org user known as “Dylan D” took to the campaigning website to create a petition, urging HBO to rewrite and reshoot the final season of Game of Thrones with more competent scribes at the helm.

While Dylan’s last-ditch effort was originally written off as a joke, his plea has attracted the attention of various outlets and websites, and before long, it had gone viral. Now, just a few days later, the petition has racked up well over 1 million signatures, though it seems some of the show’s cast aren’t exactly thrilled with its existence. As reported by THR, Isaac Hempstead Wright – who plays Bran Stark/The Three-Eyed Raven – has fired back at the demands for a remake, and he had some rather strong opinions on the matter.

“It’s just absurd. I can’t even fathom it. It’s just ridiculous,” Wright said with a laugh. “It’s ridiculous that people think they can just demand a different ending because they don’t like it. I have stupidly taken it quite personally, which obviously I shouldn’t.”

While Wright certainly has a point, he’s not fully shared his thoughts and opinions on how this season turned out yet. So far, a few cast members expressed their own disappointment, and some fans are under the impression that Peter Dinklage hasn’t been exactly honest when it comes to critiquing the show’s latest episodes.
