MCU Leak Says That All-Female Avengers Movie Isn’t Happening

Marvel Studios have definitely put a lot of emphasis on their female heroes of late. 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp was the first time a heroine's name appeared in one of their titles, Captain Marvel was the first female-led solo MCU movie and both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame featured scenes in which all the leading ladies of the franchise teamed up during battle. Many were hoping all of this was heading towards an A-Force film, starring an all-female superhero team.

A new leak claims that this isn’t happening, however. A Reddit user known as TheMarvelScoopMaster has surfaced on the website recently, supposedly spilling the beans on what the studio has planned for Phase Four of the MCU. During a write-up about Captain Marvel 2, the Redditor said that there will be “no A-Force film as many wanted” in the coming years.

The notion of an A-Force movie really took off when we heard that Tessa Thompson and a crew of her fellow MCU actresses pitched the idea to president Kevin Feige on the set of Avengers: Endgame. The internet has never really let the concept go since then, though Elizabeth Olsen has previously warned fans not to get too excited for it as the talk was “blown out of proportion.” Now, this rumor seems to prove she was correct.

The good news is that there’s still a lot of talk about more female-centric projects being on the horizon for the franchise all the same. Speaking of Olsen, WandaVision is coming to Disney Plus next year. Then there’s reports of shows for the likes of Lady Sif, She-Hulk and Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye as well. And, let’s not forget that Angelina Jolie will lead The Eternals. Maybe there’ll even be a few more surprises when Marvel releases their full Phase Four slate later this year?

In the meantime, though, tell us, do you want to see the A-Force assemble in the near future of the MCU? Have your say in the comments section down below.
