Jeremy Renner Could Star In The Bourne Legacy
Everyone wants it, but only one can have it. I'm talking about the highly coveted lead role in The Bourne Legacy. It's one of the hottest casting tickets in Hollywood right now and everyone is after it. Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, Garrett Hedlund, Taylor Kitsch, Kellan Lutz, Joel Edgerton, Josh Hartnett, Paul Dano, Michael Pitt, Oscar Isaac, Michael Fassbender, Luke Evans, Alex Pettyfer and Benjamin Walker are all names that been thrown into the mix but now it seems as if one name, that no one expected, has prevailed. And that is Mr. Jeremy Renner, star of notable films like The Town and The Hurt Locker. Both of which he gave tremendous performances in.

The Hangover Part II Theatrical Trailer
As promised, this week we finally got the first full theatrical trailer for The Hangover Part II. We recently saw a teaser but it really didn't show much at all. Now we have a much better look at the film with the two and a half minute preview. As big a fan as I was of the first film, this one may not share the same fate. Up until now I was really looking forward to it but after having seen the trailer, I'm a bit skeptical. There's a few reasons for my skepticism. One reason is that Justin Bartha's character Doug, looks like he'll have the same type of role as in the first film. And that means he'll be separated from Stu, Phil and Alan. I liked Doug's character in the first film and we were promised to see more of him in the sequel. It doesn't look like we will though.

Katy Perry Releases E.T. Music Video Featuring Kanye West
Today Katy Perry released the much anticipated music video for her song E.T. Not the original version though, the remix, featuring Mr. Kanye West. Floria Sigismondi directed and it looks to be quite high budget. The song itself didn't turn any heads when first released but after Yeezy hopped on it quickly shot to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Warner Bros. Wants Sean Penn And Ryan Gosling For Tales From The Gangster Squad
Tales From The Gangster Squad is currently a top priority at Warner Bros. After settling on a director (Ruben Fleischer), the studio is starting to look towards casting and the two leading men they have in mind are Sean Penn and Ryan Gosling. Deadline tells us that offers have been made to the two stars. Paul Lieberman's L.A. Times article will serve as the basis for the film and Will Beall, a former cop turned novelist will adapt. The film would have Penn going up against Gosling as it tells the story of "a specialized L.A.P.D. unit set up in the ‘40s to fight the growing influence of the East Coast Mafia, namely that from infamous gangster Mickey Cohen, a mogul who started as muscle for Al Capone in Chicago." Penn would play Cohen and Gosling would play one of the cops.

Bryan Cranston Joins Total Recall
The Playlist is reporting that actor Bryan Cranston, best known for his TV series Breaking Bad, will be joining the upcoming Total Recall remake. The film will start shooting this Spring and with only one actor locked in, Colin Farrell, it was about time we heard more about casting. Cranston will play the villain, Vilos Cohaagen, the leader of Euromerica. We should also be hearing about casting for the female lead very soon since the short list was released not too long ago.

Batman Franchise To Be Rebooted With Christopher Nolan Producing
With Marvel currently dominating the superhero film market, and The Avengers set to explode onto the big screen in the near future, it looks like Warner Bros. is stepping up their game and getting ready to compete. They announced yesterday that a Justice League film would be coming in 2013 and with the studio readying their Wonder Woman, Superman and The Flash films, I can definitely see how Justice League would be a possibility. Apparently a script is in the works and while it's not known who will direct or who will star, the film is going to hit the big screen, that is confirmed. Perhaps the most interesting news though coming from Warner Bros. though is about one of their biggest franchises, Batman.

Californication Season 4-12 ‘And Justice For All’ Recap
We open in court as Hank is about to receive his sentencing. He tells the judge that the only thing he’s truly sorry for is embarrassing Karen and Becca, everything else is just noise, plain and simple. His apology doesn’t manage to impress the judge though and she sentences him to three years in prison. As he hears it he faints and passes out in court. When he comes to, Abby tells him he heard the judge wrong, three years probation, no jail time. Just some additional fines and community service. Thrilled with the result, he ends up in bed with her and we cut to opening credits.

Amy Adams Will Play Lois Lane In Zack Snyder’s Superman
Looks like director Zack Snyder has finally found his Lois Lane. With casting starting to come together for his Superman reboot, Lois Lane was one of the key roles that still hadn't been filled. Today though we have reports from Hero Complex that actress Amy Adams will play the part. Adams, a three time Oscar nominee, apparently received the call from Snyder today, confirming that she got the job. Snyder told Hero Complex that “there was a big, giant search for Lois. For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.”

Michael Sheen To Join Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows
Michael Sheen may join Tim Burton's next film, Dark Shadows, which is an adaptation of the famous 60's television show. If Sheen joins, he'll step into an already impressive cast that includes Johnny Depp, Jackie Earle Haley, Eva Green, Bella Heathcote, Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham Carter. Like I said, impressive. The Playlist tells us that Sheen is still in discussions and it's not clear yet what role he would take. Apparently he will read this weekend and then negotiations can begin as early as next week. Seeing as the film is set to start filming next month, we should have confirmation on this sooner than later.

New Trailer And Poster For Takashi Miike’s 13 Assassins
Today we get a new trailer and poster for Takashi Miike's 13 Assassins, which is hitting theatres on April 29th. Miike is an interesting filmmaker and anytime he releases something new it's usually a big deal. Despite our poor review on 13 Assassins, most of the buzz is very positive. I generally enjoy Miike's films so I'm remaining optimistic about 13 Assassins. From watching the trailer it's clear to see that Miike was inspired by Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, which could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.
