Peter Parker’s Parents And New Villain Cast In Marc Webb’s Spider-Man
Bunch of new casting news for the upcoming Spider-Man reboot. Campbell Scott (The Spanish Prisoner), Irrfan Khan (Slumdog Millionaire), Annie Parisse (National Treasure) and Julianne Nicholson (Kinsey) have all joined the cast. Scott and Nicholson are said to take the role of Peter Parker's parents while Khan will play Van Atter and Parisse will play Van Atter's wife. Most exciting here is the announcement of the second villain, the first being Rhys Ifans as The Lizard. For those unfamiliar with Van Atter, you can check out the Wikipedia summary below. Apparently though, he becomes a test subject for a chemical developed by Norman Osborn. Of course things go wrong and he becomes the villain Proto-Goblin.

Warner Bros. Working On A Musical Comedy For Robert Downey Jr.
Robert Downey Jr. in a musical comedy? Ya I find it odd also, apparently it's happening though. Brian Yorkey is in charge of the script and lyrics and Tom Kitt will be taking care of the music. For those unfamiliar with Yorkey and Kitt, they were the duo behind the broadway musical Next To Normal. Downey will reportedly play one half of a songwriting duo. The duo find themselves bankrupt after their latest musical flops. To gain some inspiration, the duo takes a job at a camp, teaching children to sing and dance. Downey Jr. will be required to both sing and play piano, which shouldn't be a problem, seeing as he's already released his own album.

Disney Will Shoot Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 And 6 Back To Back
As Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is well into production, Disney is already looking towards the future. Apparently, not only are Disney planning on doing a fifth and sixth instalment, but they've also told the cast, according to HitFlix, to "set aside a major block of time in the very near future so they can shoot Pirates 5 and Pirates 6,” meaning they're going to be shooting back to back.

Sam Mendes Will Direct Bond 23 Next Year
With the recent news that Bond 23 is back on, we now get news that director Sam Mendes will start shooting next year. Recently, Kate Winslet was speaking about Mendes and his commitment to direct Bond 23. She confirmed that he was directing and they would start shooting next year. She had the following to say:

Twisted Pixel Reveals Ms. Splosion Man
Splosion Man fans everywhere can rejoice! Twisted Pixel has announced that they'll be bringing Ms. Splosion Man to the XBLA in the fall of 2011. For those that remember, Splosion Man was an XBLA game that was included in Microsoft's 2009 Summer of Arcade promotion. It was very well received and I don't know anyone who didn't like the game, despite its absurdly hard difficulty level.

Ben Foster And Giovanni Ribisi Join Contraband
Ben Foster and Giovanni Ribisi are the two newest actors to join the upcoming film Contraband. Already starring Mark Wahlberg and Kate Beckinsale, the film is an American remake of the movie Reykjavik-Rotterdam, which came out of Iceland back in 2008 and was very well reviewed. Baltasar Kormákur, who starred in, co-wrote and produced the original, will take the director's chair here.

Everyone's favorite serial killer, the friendly and likeable Dexter Morgan, has found himself renewed for a sixth season. Creators originally had plans to end the show after this season but now it looks like we get at least one more season of Dexter.

Ricky Gervais And Emily Blunt Join The Muppets
Add two more names to the ever growing cast for Jason Segel's upcoming film The Muppets. Ricky Gervais and Emily Blunt have now joined the film. With a cast that already includes Alan Arkin, Jack Black, Billy Crystal, Zach Galifianakis, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Jason Segel, Rashida Jones, Chris Cooper and Amy Adams. And rumors circling that stars such as Paul Rudd, Lady Gaga, Ed Helms, John Krasinski, Jane Lynch and Danny Trejo may join, this is turning into quite the spectacle.
