Now that the Superman/Batman team-up film has been announced, the Bat-signal is shining against the clouds, just waiting for the perfect actor to answer the call. Everyone would love to be the Dark Knight, so plenty of actors are going to want the role, but Liam McIntyre may be the first to make his desire public.
In 2009, Oscar Grant was shot and killed by a police officer who was attempting to subdue a group involved in an altercation on a train. In contrast with the officer's violent action, most onlookers at the scene called the group of black men non-violent. When a cell-phone video shot from the train hit the web, protests broke out, and the offending officer was eventually jailed, though his sentence was much shorter than many would've liked. Ryan Coogler's Fruitvale Station takes that amateur footage and works backwards, telling a bit of who Oscar is, and the events in his life that lead to him being shot on the platform that day.
The Fastest Man Alive is a prime example of a fanboy favorite. There are few characters that fans are as passionate about as the Scarlet Speedster, and because of this, DC fans can hardly wait to see who is going to play The Flash when a Justice League movie finally comes our way.
It doesn't seem like anyone can figure out whether Shailene Woodley will be a part of The Amazing Spider-Man franchise. Not the media, not the producers, and probably not even Woodley herself. We first heard that the actress was being pushed back to The Amazing Spider-Man 3, but then there was word that Mary Jane was being recast. Now producer Avi Arad is making it sound as if Woodley will indeed be in the third film's cast, while Marc Webb is remaining non-committal.
Due to The Amazing Spider-Man 2's position as one of the most anticipated films of 2014, the film's panel was one of the most anticipated of this year's Comic-Con. While a ton of information has come from both the general panel and the press-only conference that happened beforehand, there's perhaps nothing more interesting than everything Marc Webb and Jamie Foxx had to say about the film's villain: Electro.
As exciting as all the casting news and rumors were during filming of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, red flags began to pop up for some as it seemed like villain after villain was introduced. That hesitation makes sense. We all saw what happened to Spider-Man 3 when it tried to juggle Venom, Sandman, and the New Goblin. So in an attempt to ease some of that hesitation, Marc Webb explained a bit of what he has planned for all these villains, saying that many are simply teases for future films.
A lot has been made of the numerous villains that may be involved in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but director Marc Webb says as much as this sequel to Spidey's 2012 hit is a story of superhero vs. supervillains, at its core its a story of whether Spider-Man can still be Peter Parker.
Yesterday we reported the chances of David Fincher directing a sequel to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo are extremely slim, and as of now the director has no plans of taking on The Girl Who Played With Fire. Now we have some news that could counter yesterday's report, as Andrew Kevin Walker, who previously wrote Fincher's Seven, has been hired to rewrite the script for the Dragon Tattoo sequel.
A few weeks ago Felicity Jones may have accidentally revealed who she's playing in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Her reveal wasn't necessarily through her words, but rather through her uncomfortable reaction to an interviewer's question. While some said drawing the conclusion that Jones is indeed playing Black Cat from that small reaction is a stretch, the quote we have from her today gives a much more definite reveal for the franchise.
