It's October once again and, aside from Halloween, there's another event occurring this month, with just as many zombie costumes on display. The Walking Dead returns after a short-lived but incredibly addictive first season that ended rather abruptly for fans of the series and its graphic novel counterparts. AMC did such a fantastic job at portraying zombies and the hardship of human survival that its return to the small screen has been eagerly anticipated for months now. If the show's Season 2 premiere has anything to prove, it's that this series has endless opportunities to expand on the zombie apocalypse and the doomed characters involved within it.
At full price it’s not easy recommending Supremacy MMA, even to loyal fans of the sport. It’s a failed representation of MMA and why it’s so popular in today’s society. A lack of content and a distinct personality, it never achieves the height of the sport it’s trying to faithfully illustrate aside from the visual splendor of the violence associated with it. More fighters, wider customization options, a proper progression meter, finely-tuned controls and more expansive online play would help significantly if a sequel was ever conceived.
Back at E3, gamers caught a glimpse of the new Spec Ops footage for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It's basically designed as a variant of the ever-popular Horde survival mode from the Gears of War series, where two players battle increasingly difficult waves of terrorists solely focused on killing you.
Although it had a few missteps (that still delivered some solid laughs) "Geography of Global Conflict" was another great episode for Community. Anytime the show focuses on Annie it turns out to be a good thing since Alison Brie has crafted such a wonderful character who’s basically a classic school stereotype gone wrong.
What’s Your Number? isn’t necessary as a romantic comedy should be. It goes for the cheap way out at every turn and uses Faris as a punching bag for acquiring jokes. It’s a tame effort at making women raunchy and doesn’t provide any solid laughs. The only redeeming factors are the actors involved, who all try their best with what’s been given to them (which isn’t much). But once again it’s Faris who gets the blunt end of the stick here who keeps trying to keep her head above rough water; and thanks to her uncanny knack for being charismatic, she does just that.
Sticking with F1 2011 will result in an engaging complex driving simulator that perfectly captures the look and feel of Formula 1. It’s a huge game with a long, but overdrawn, career mode and amusing multiplayer options with great co-op play. Racing at tremendous speeds is never a dull moment, not to mention when the cars happen to be the fastest vehicles on the planet, the rush of exhilaration can be intoxicating. F1 2011 captures this sensation seamlessly and makes you the pilot of a car only available through video game technology.
Greendale’s favorite diverse study group is back as Community returns for its third season of meticulously sharp writing and inspired story ideas. Unlike most comedies out there, and especially on NBC, this is one that genuinely has fun with its source material focused around the concept of college life. The premiere reminds viewers how things have changed since the series debut yet the character's conflicting personalities still remain as strong as ever.
Disgaea 4 is the hook, line and sinker of Japanese tactical role-playing games; nothing comes close to it in terms of replay value and additional content. The campaign and post story alone is enough to suck away weeks of your life, but it’s the leveling system that can really do damage to someone’s social life. Maxing out character stats, upgrading weapons, collecting all creatures, these are tasks that are originally daunting but compelling once you begin them. Disgaea 4 gives fans of the series everything they could ask for and more.
In an interview with Scotsman.com he spoke out once more on how working with Nolan has been a great experience for him as an actor. Hardy seems very level-headed and grateful towards his peers so accepting what he has to say about concerns revolving around Bane and the final quality of the film are reassuring to say the least.
Early set photos of the newly minted Batwing displayed on the set of The Dark Knight Rises have gotten a positive reaction from the film community due to director Christopher Nolan's insistence on using real props for action scenes instead of relying on CGI, like most big blockbusters do.
