Walt Disney Pictures has released a new clip called 'The Page' from the upcoming film TRON: Legacy. There have now been four clips released for the film. The fourth, and newest clip, which is embedded below, is a one minute clip of the scene featuring Bruce Boxleitner, reprising his role as Alan Bradley, who pays Sam Flynn a visit to tell him about a page which was mysteriously phoned from his father’s office.
There’s a peculiar type of anxiety that film can elicit in me. It’s peculiar because on one hand, I completely understand that I’m choosing to suspend my disbelief. On the other hand, if the movie is particularly well crafted, and the director understands how to push my buttons, as it were, the anxiety is nearly unavoidable. Danny Boyle is one of those directors. He finely tunes his films to play my emotions like he knows them better than I do. This is, of course, one of the greatest attributes of his films for those that want to experience more of the human emotional spectrum than can be provided by standard theatre fare. So in 127 Hours, you must, absolutely, be prepared to test your movie-going threshold.
We've seen some photos from the set of Sherlock Holmes II, the sequel to last year's Sherlock Holmes from director Guy Ritchie. But those photos weren't official, this one is! And they also only featured Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr., not Ms. Noomi Rapace ('The Girl' that got into so much trouble in Steig Larsson's Millenium trilogy). This is casting is Rapace's first American role.
In the most recent digital version of WiReD Magazine (issue number 18.12), there's a weird video included. It's got director Neill Blomkamp's (District 9) name attached. The video appears on the splash page before the big Tron: Legacy cover story, and is credited simply as “Video By: Neill Blomkamp”. Could this be a viral teaser trailer for Blomkamp’s next project?
A few photos have surfaced from the set of Angelina Jolie's still untitled directorial debut. The film has been surrounded in a bit of controversy (like when Bosnia kicked her out), and plenty of rumors (like hiring beau Brad Pitt for a cameo). But these are the first images we have that document the happenings on set. The image above shows Ms. Jolie working her director mojo. And then there's this image:
Earlier today, it was reported that a reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was in the works. It seems Warner Bros. will be the studio helming the project, and the virtually unknown Whit Anderson will be writing the script. Of course, the incredibly loyal fans of Joss Whedon are up in arms over the project, since Whedon isn't reported to be involved at all.
The website MovienewZ is reporting that a source close to the outlet says Zack Snyder has pegged Matthew Goode to play the titular role in his upcoming reboot of the franchise. First a British Spiderman, now a British Superman.
For many, Darren Aronofsky's decision to direct the next Wolverine film for Fox has been baffling. Nothing about Requiem For a Dream or Pi seems to suggest he would even enjoy something that mainstream. The confusion continues now as it seems Mr. Aronofsky's production company, Protozoa Pictures, has signed a two year development deal with Fox.
We've known about the script since January this year, when it was rumored to be in development. It was also rumored that Doug Liman may have been planning to direct. Liman's projects includeMr. and Mrs. Smith, The Bourne Identity and Jumper. But now it seems that Liman has passed in order to direct All You Need is Kill. So the mantle has fallen to director Michael Hoffman, who's last project was The Last Station.
