Steam Summer Sale Flash Deals – Last Updated 3:05 AM EST 7/23/12

As if the daily Steam Sale wasn’t going to keep me busy enough, Valve is complicating my life even more by adding in Flash Sales and Community’s Choice deals to this go around. Every few hours, there will be a new game taking the place of a previous one from the Flash Sale, giving us a constantly updating way to blow through our paycheck.

The Steam Summer Sale Is Upon Us! Here’s Your Day 1 Breakdown

It’s here, it’s here, it’s finally here! Christmas in the summer is officially upon us. The annual Steam Summer Sale has kicked off this morning, and there are a few new changes to the format this year. For the first time ever, players will be allowed to vote for what goes on sale, as well the inclusion of Flash Sales, which put up some killer deals with a shorter time limit. The sale will be running through July 22nd, so there’s plenty of time to pick find what you’re looking for.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II’s Main Villain Is The “Messiah Of The 99%”

I’m a professional. I can get through this without having to rely on snarky comments about a conspiracy or some sort of hidden message here. I mean, just because Activision has announced that Black Ops II’s villain is the “messiah of the 99%”, that doesn’t mean anything. This is just a story. I mean, after all Raul Menendez looks like a seriously bad dude. He’s weaseled his way into the thick of things and is manipulating the class divide to wipe out the civilized world. That’s pretty much the definition of “bad guy”. Hell, this is the equivalent of finding out that Oprah has a secret lair in which she’s built a giant magnet to throw the earth off orbit and into the sun.

Hands-On With Halo 4’s Multiplayer: Change Can Be A Very Good Thing

I’m not the world’s largest Halo fan. There, I said it. In fact, I haven’t played any of the series since Halo 3, and even then I don’t think I finished the campaign. I completely understand why it commands such a large fan following, but it’s never been able to hook me completely. It’s always been a game for other people to enjoy as far as I was concerned. However, after a brief hands-on with Halo 4, I can honestly say I’m excited for a new Halo game for the first time, well, ever.

Loadout Hands-On Preview

Let’s face it; the Free-To-Play market is nearing saturation if we haven’t sprinted past that already. It seems every developer has rushed to throw something up on the market to capitalize on this revolutionary market. Granted, most of these are something less than outstanding, but we have seen some incredible titles such as Tribes: Ascend and Team Fortress 2 (can we really call that a F2P since it started out as retail release?). The point I’m driving at is that it’s hard for a title to truly separate itself from the pack, but after my limited time getting my hands on Loadout, I’m ready to be wow’d again.

Spelunky Review

While Spelunky may intimidate some with its difficulty, there is a phenomenal game capable of appealing to every demographic to be found. Spelunky manages to embody everything that has been great about gaming for the past 25 years, and it would be an absolute shame to miss out on it.
