The Diablo III real money auction house went live yesterday and within hours people were declaring to the world that they apparently have an overabundance of cash lying around. With items selling for as much as $250 seemingly regularly, it appears that my worst fears have come true.
Nintendo rounded out their 3DS presentation at this year’s E3 talking about New Super Mario Bros. 2. Nintendo loosely touched upon the title yesterday at their official presentation, but gave us a bit more information on what we can expect come August 19th.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate had both the honor of leading of Nintendo’s 3DS press conference and as being one of the longest titles of any game at E3. Konami had promised originally that Mirror of Fate would be a “true Castlevania”, and with what was revealed today this certainly looks to be the case.
Dungeonland quickly became one of my most anticipated titles when it was first announced. Paradox’s new coop hack and slash adventure seems exactly like my cup of tea. Working with three friends to get through an theme park owned and operated by the Dungeonmaster with the sole intention of killing you seems like something out of a comic book. However, we really haven’t had many details until recently.
I want to make something abundantly clear right off the bat; I don’t know a damn thing about cars. You could tell me that the engines are powered by a series of leprechauns and that the gasoline is a prime ingredient for their black magic rituals and I’d agree with you. This is where the magic of video games come in since I can throw my ignorance to the wind and work out all of my unresolved road rage issues.
Project P-100 is the working title of a new Wii U title from Platinum Games, the developer best known for titles such as Vanquish and Bayonetta. As with most titles shown at E3, there’s not a whole lot of meat on the bones, but from what we can tell is that game will play out as an amalgamation of sorts of Pikmin and Viewtiful Joe, and that excites me in a way that would probably be deemed illegal in North Carolina. Players will use the GamePad touch screen to round up citizens to help them fight off an alien force by a series of transformations. The trailer highlights giant fists to pull cargo boxes, gelatin blobs to reflect projectiles and swords…..to hit people with.
I’m a sucker for the LEGO games. Sure, they’re decidedly more casual and kid friendly, but there’s a charm in the games that I can’t deny. Maybe it’s the fact that they can take some more serious stories, such as Batman or Star Wars and turn them into a cute satire of itself without being outright mocking. So when Nintendo revealed that Traveller’s Tales was going to make a LEGO crime game, I was sold pretty quickly.
When Reggie said that we’d only get a few minutes of coverage for the 3DS during Nintendo’s press conference today, I wasn’t expecting much to come out of it. Luckily, tomorrow night at 6pm Pacific Nintendo will be giving the 3DS its own press conference. With the limited time, Nintendo did give us a first look at three titles.
As an old school PC gamer and developing curmudgeon, it’s fantastic to see that SimCity getting a fresh look. I lost more hours than I should admit building cities only to let an alien destroy them. The upcoming releases promise to bring me back to my childhood and create my dream city. Of course, this means I will immediately destroy that one as well. I like to stay consistent.
With the spectacular rise in the popularity of mixed martial arts, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that the UFC games have become a very marketable series. With the previous games being pretty solid endeavours, I’m pretty shocked to find out that UFC has jumped ship and is now an EA Sports property.
