Looney Tunes Fans Petition To Bring Back Pepé Le Pew
No one had Pepé Le Pew becoming a figurehead of the anti-cancel culture movement on their 2021 bingo card, and yet here we are. This month, a damning New York Times op-ed blasted the classic Looney Tunes character for glorying "rape culture," due to the French skunk's non-consensual pursuing of his love interest. This led to Warner Bros. announcing that Pepé will be retired from the cartoon universe's roster and will no longer feature in future movie and TV projects.

Jason Momoa Reportedly Has No Problem Working With Amber Heard On Aquaman 2
Jason Momoa will be back as Arthur Curry this very week in Zack Snyder's Justice League, and there'll be plenty more of the former Game of Thrones star in the DCEU after that, too. This summer, he'll return to the seven seas for Aquaman 2, the follow-up to the smash hit 2018 origins movie. But there's been a lot of speculation about whether he'll be joined by Amber Heard as his queen of the ocean, Mera, in the sequel and if her role will be drastically reduced.

Marvel Comics Reveals New LGBTQ Captain America
Just as Marvel Studios is introducing a new Captain America into the MCU in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Marvel Comics is bringing another fresh incarnation of the Sentinel of Liberty to the page. June's The United States of Captain America #1, from writer Christopher Cantwell and artist Dale Eaglesham, is set to feature the debut of the very first LGBTQ hero to take on the mantle.

Amber Heard Reportedly Still Fighting For Bigger Aquaman 2 Role
Aquaman 2 is due to start shooting this summer, but right now we still don't know for certain how involved Amber Heard will be in the DC sequel. Rumors swirled a few weeks ago that the actress was to be replaced as Mera due to poor health, however this was soon refuted by her reps. Nevertheless, reports say Warner Bros. is at least attempting to reduce her presence in the movie, given all the bad press that surrounds her these days.

Lucasfilm Reportedly Worried About Pedro Pascal Leaving The Mandalorian
Over the past few years, Pedro Pascal has successfully transformed himself into one of the internet's favorite actors. In December 2020, for example, he could be seen in the latest big hit on no less than three streaming services - Netflix's We Can Be Heroes, HBO Max's Wonder Woman 1984 and, of course, Disney Plus' The Mandalorian. His star is only going to continue to rise, too, as he's signed up to lead HBO's much-anticipated The Last of Us TV series.

Fantastic Four Reboot Will Reportedly Feature A Diverse Cast
The Fantastic Four already have several movies to their name as things stand, but we're yet to get the definitive big screen take on Marvel's First Family. Fans are hoping that the upcoming MCU reboot from director Jon Watts will be what we've been waiting for, though. And maybe it will be, but it doesn't have to 100% replicate the characters from the comics to be definitive. In fact, it seems Marvel is dedicated to diversifying the roster of the heroes as they're brought into the franchise.

Disney Reportedly Wants To Make Alien Their Next Mega-Franchise
One of the strangest outcomes of Disney buying Fox is that the House of Mouse is now the owner of the Alien movies. Despite the sci-fi horror franchise being the least Disney-friendly IP you can think of, the studio knows they're sitting on a very lucrative universe and so last December they announced they were developing an Alien TV series with Fargo creator Noah Hawley. The first Cruella trailer that dropped last month shocked the internet by making us side with one of the most evil villains in Disney's pantheon, with fans jokingly calling the Emma Stone vehicle the Mouse House's answer to DC's Joker.
