The Disney Princess line is one of the Mouse House's core merchandising lines. Launched in 2001, the inexhaustible amount of princess-branded products have grossed a ridiculous amount of money, with estimates that Disney probably makes somewhere between $1-2 billion per year off it. Despite this, there's been no official Disney Princess movie, with the closest being the direct-to-video Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams in 2007 (which was planned to be first in a series, but was cancelled by John Lasseter). We also got a hilarious cameo from the princesses in 2018's Ralph Breaks The Internet, which went over pretty well with fans.
Netflix’s The Witcher quickly became the biggest show in the world and secured a passionate fanbase comprised of fans of the books, games and people new to the universe. The first season laid down some very strong foundations and its future is looking rosy, with season 2 having now entered production, season 3 already greenlit and showrunner Lauren Hissrich having plans for a seven-season arc. But with that next run still a ways off, there've been repeated rumors that Netflix are working on an animated show to fill the gap.
Zack Snyder has an apparently inexhaustible collection of Justice League concept art and behind-the-scenes photos that he’s been posting online since the film’s release. Fans are always appreciative of this, and showing us what we missed out on with the butchered theatrical cut has kept the Snyder Cut dream alive. And now, he's given us a look at his take on Ryan Choi/The Atom.
Altered Carbon was one of Netflix's biggest hits of 2018. Based on Richard Morgan's 2002 novel, the show took viewers into a crazy and cool cyberpunk world where consciousness can be transferred to different bodies. Within this, we followed detective Takeshi Kovacs, who was played by Joel Kinnaman, and while the show was quickly renewed after the first season, fans have had to wait a while for the next run. But now, thanks to this cool new teaser, we know when it's landing: February 27th, 2020.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story writer Gary Whitta has been taking questions from fans on Twitter over the last few days, which have resulted in some neat pieces of information about the film coming to light. Rogue One had a famously troubled production, going through multiple re-writes, extensive reshoots and being taken away from original director Gareth Edwards. Taking all that into consideration, it's amazing that the finished film stands among the very best in the franchise.
Tom Welling spent almost his entire time as Clark Kent in Smallville pushing back against doing anything too Superman-y. In fact, the show's famous motto was "No Tights, No Flight." The idea was that since Smallville was about Kent becoming the Man of Steel, once he did these things, the show would have no reason to exist. However, the series pushed these rules about as far as they could, allowing their Clark Kent to use superspeed a lot (often effectively flying) and wearing a jacket with a big S on the front.
Marvel Studios have understandably decided to hold off on world-shattering crossovers in the wake of Avengers: Endgame. However, the first ten years of the MCU demonstrated that they're always looking far into the future, so it's not surprising that Avengers 5 is being very roughly planned out. But with Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow and Vision out of the picture and Thor apparently due to be depowered, who will make up the next team?
