On paper, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge should be a winner. Disney's lavish theme park bills itself as immersing guests in Star Wars by transporting them to the outer rim planet of Batuu during the Sequel Trilogy. You can have a themed cocktail in Oga's cantina, construct your own lightsaber and even pilot the Millennium Falcon. The park was expected to be a smash hit, but attendance figures have so far been disappointing.

Darth Vader Reportedly Returning In Future Star Wars Movies
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was far from a flop, but it failed to meet Disney's sky-high financial expectations. That, in combination with the tepid critical and audience response, will have Disney and Lucasfilm asking what went wrong. My opinion is that a combination of risk aversion, executive meddling, over-compensating for the online backlash to The Last Jedi and the failure to properly plan out the sequel trilogy all have their part to play. Now our sources are telling us that Disney's first reaction on how to pull Star Wars out of its slump is simple: more Darth Vader. Lots more Darth Vader.

Marvel Reportedly Considering Making The MCU’s Galactus Female
With Thanos defeated the MCU can breathe easy for a while. But there's something worse looming on the distant horizon... Now that Disney has purchased Fox and their Fantastic Four IP they have the rights to Galactus. The colossal cosmic entity is more of a force of nature than a true villain, roaming the universe consuming planets without morality and judgment. Many see Galactus as playing a necessary role within the Marvel Universe, like an interstellar gardener pruning back planets that have grown too wild. But that's not much comfort if it's your planet being pruned.

Babu Frik’s Workshop In Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Had A Cool Prequel Cameo In It
Pintsize droidsmith Babu Frik was one of the best things about Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (though to be honest, that's a short list). The visit to his workshop saw our heroes decoding the crucial Sith transmission, which tragically involved wiping C3PO's memory. That sacrifice was somewhat undermined by them restoring his memory soon afterwards, but whatever. Anyway, eagle-eyed fans have noticed a very subtle appearance from a key droid model from the prequels.

Unused Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Concept Art Reveals New Design For Kylo’s Mask
Kylo Ren's mask is as good a symbol as any for the way Disney's Sequel Trilogy went down. Established as imposing in The Force Awakens, deconstructed in The Last Jedi and then haphazardly reassembled in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Kylo abandoning his mask in one movie only to revert to it in the next is a great example of the lack of planning that went into this trilogy, but now we see that things could've been quite different.

Star Wars Fans Demanding Kathleen Kennedy’s Removal After Obi-Wan Debacle
I've always defended Kathleen Kennedy. Anyone whose production resume includes Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future and Congo (fight me) is clearly doing something right. After Disney's purchase of Lucasfilm in 2012, I've tended to give her the benefit of the doubt and I agree with her overall strategy of making Star Wars appeal to as many demographics as possible. Plus, there's the fact that a lot of the hate thrown her way comes from the internet's worst misogynists.

Obi-Wan Disney Plus Show May Now Become A Movie
Something is rotten in the state of Lucasfilm. Over the last week, we've heard rumblings from various sources that the Obi-Wan Disney Plus show was in trouble. Reasons for this ranged from problems with the script, Ewan McGregor's availability and even the Australian bushfires affecting the location shoot. But whatever the true reason proves to be, the hammer fell yesterday with The Hollywood Reporter saying that the show is now on indefinite hiatus and the episode count has been cut from six to four.

Marvel Fans Freaking Out Over The Captain Marvel 2 Announcement
We all knew it was coming, but that doesn't make the announcement any less sweet. Yesterday, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Captain Marvel 2 is officially in development, is targeting a 2022 release and will be set in the present day. WandaVision writer Megan McDonnell is hard at work on the script, while the first film's directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck will return in some capacity but won't helm. Instead, the studio is looking for a woman to occupy the director's chair, in keeping with their continued efforts to maintain equality in the MCU.
