The Witcher: Nightmare Of The Wolf Will Focus On Vesemir’s Early Adventures
With season 1 of The Witcher having delivered the goods, fans are eagerly anticipating the further adventures of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri. Season 2 might be a way off yet, but Netflix is determined to keep the flame burning during the long wait. At the start of the year, we heard whispers that they were planning an animated movie following the franchise's ancillary characters. We now know that this will be The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and will be created by the animation studio behind Legend of Korra.

Terminator TV Show Reportedly Coming To Hulu, James Cameron To Produce
Terminator: Dark Fate had the odds stacked against it. Though the original and its sequel are cast-iron cinema classics, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation and Terminator Genisys have all been various flavors of awful. Faced with that and some rather uninspiring trailers, audiences stayed away and it's estimated that the film could end up losing Paramount and Skydance up to $130 million. Many assumed that that was the death knell for the Terminator franchise. But, much like the T-800, it looks like it could prove exceedingly difficult to kill off for good.

DC May Be Sticking With Standalone Movies For Foreseeable Future
After a wobbly few years, Warner Bros. and DC's superhero output finally feels like it's found its groove. The high-profile failure of Justice League resulted from WB's determination to copy Marvel Studios' MCU as closely as possible. Since that failed, they've shifted their aim, with their ongoing DCEU superhero films technically taking place in a shared universe without big crossovers. This strategy was evident in hits like Aquaman, and their new willingness to take risks has paid off, with Joker going on to massive box office success and a host of Academy Award nominations.

Kevin Feige Reportedly Wants To Limit Venom And Morbius’ Involvement In The MCU
Last year was a rollercoaster for Spider-Man fans. The highs - Into the Spider-Verse and Far From Home - were very high. But then there were the lows during Sony Pictures and Disney's very public falling out over the rights to the character. For a few sad weeks, it looked as if Tom Holland's Spidey had shot his last web in the MCU and would thereafter be consigned to Sony's new Spider-verse. But, as is usually the case when there's hundreds of millions of dollars at stake, the two companies made up.

Stranger Things Actor Wants To Play Young Ben Solo In Star Wars Movie
Adam Driver's Ben Solo/Kylo Ren was one of the best things about the sequel trilogy. In his debut in The Force Awakens, the character made a strong impression as a Force user full of pent up anger and a hatred for his legacy. But, over the following two movies, that potential was never fully realized. After The Last Jedi left him in an interesting place as Supreme Commander of the First Order and deepened his connection to Rey, The Rise of Skywalker undid a lot of that development and then killed him off in the finale. It's tellingly that it's taken a series of comic books to explain exactly why he fell to the dark side and how Ben Solo chose his new moniker.

Captain Marvel 2 May Not Face The Same Backlash As The First Movie
The controversy over Captain Marvel was (and is) one of the dumbest things I've ever experienced. Here was a very by-the-numbers Marvel Studios origin movie being treated like the arrival of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. A small group of terminally online men took exception to star Brie Larson saying some pretty milquetoast feminist things while promoting the movie and all hell broke loose. Amazingly, some are still waving their pitchforks a year later, launching obviously fake petitions to get Larson fired and continuing to populate comment sections with angry diatribes (see below). But some new analysis indicates that Captain Marvel 2 may not cause quite so much anger.

Star Trek: Picard Is Already Breaking Records For CBS All Access
I had high hopes for Star Trek: Picard. I've been a Next Generation fan since I was a kid and Patrick Stewart's courageous, intellectual and kind leader is my ideal of what a Starfleet captain should be. But I did fear that the show ran the risk of being too self-indulgent and relying on nostalgia alone. Thankfully, then, the first episode absolutely blew me away: combining a great performance from Stewart, a compelling mystery to solve and - unexpectedly - some really great fight scenes.

Friends Star Wants To See An All-Black Or All-Asian Reboot
We're now a quarter of a century on from its September 1994 premiere and Friends is almost as popular as it ever was. The iconic 90s show ran for ten years, concluding with a big finale after 236 episodes in 2004. After that, it looked as though it'd enter syndication and live out a long retirement on DVD box sets. But the show gained a surprise new lease of life on Netflix, where it drew a massive audience. Recently, however, the beloved sitcom was pulled off the streaming site, leaving diehard fans devastated.

Ice Cube Texted Kobe Bryant After He Died Hoping He’d Respond
The news of Kobe Bryant's death in a helicopter crash, along with his daughter Gianna and seven others, shocked the world. There were reports of people staring at each other in disbelief in public as the notification came through on their phones, scarcely able to believe it was true. The news was so unexpected many hoped it was a hoax or a mistake. One such person was Bryant's close friend Ice Cube.
