In the tangled tale of Todd McFarlane's Spawn, there's been one constant you can rely on: Jamie Foxx. The Oscar-winning actor is a fan of the character and signed on early for the lead role. His star power allowed McFarlane to argue that the film would be profitable: the key factor in securing that elusive green light. Sadly, however, Foxx's presence hasn't been enough to push the pic into active production and now, more than two years on from the actor signing on to play Al Simmons, there are rumors he's getting cold feet.

First Plot Details For Scream 5 Reportedly Revealed
After almost a decade in development, Scream 5 is finally ready to go before the cameras. The project is being helmed by Ready or Not directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, with series writer Kevin Williamson producing. The plan was to begin the shoot in May 2020 for a release in early 2021, but that obviously isn't going to happen due to Coronavirus. But now we at least have a rough idea of what the plot will entail.

New Dune Photos Reveal First Look At Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa And More
Denis Villeneuve's Dune is set to be the most ambitious science fiction film of 2020. Many directors have tried to adapt Frank Herbert's classic novels. Alejandro Jodorowsky's attempt was chronicled in the excellent documentary Jodorowsky's Dune. David Lynch managed to get his Dune to the screen, only for it to be a huge flop and one of the worst films of his career. And Syfy even had a stab with their own miniseries, but failed to capture the grandeur of the novels. But where they failed, Villeneuve may succeed.

Sonic The Hedgehog Director Says He Can’t Wait To Show Us More Of Tails
Sonic the Hedgehog had a rocky 2019, with the film dominating headlines for its frankly horrific CGI redesign of the blue blur. But, to Paramount's credit, they paid attention to fans' displeasure, reworked Sonic and delayed the pic a few months. This was clearly the right thing to do, too, as it's made $306 million worldwide and boasts an impressive 93% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Internet Is Roasting Joel McHale For New Tiger King Episode
It's totally understandable that Netflix would want to quickly capitalize on the success of Tiger King. The docuseries about the feud between zoo owner Joe Exotic and animal rights activist Carole Baskin captured the imagination of the world and has been a nice distraction from you-know-what. So, it's laudable that they decided to give audiences more of what they craved in the form of a bonus episode catching up with some of the cast.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings looks set to bring some genuinely neat martial arts action to the MCU. The character is renowned for his hand-to-hand skills, with the plot reportedly centering on the titular hero battling his way through a fighting tournament in order to win the Ten Rings. Along the way, he'll fight mystical and magical opponents, apparently concluding with a titanic battle against the dragon Fin Fang Foom.
