Star Wars Tie-In Book Reveals Luke’s Death Is Linked To Expanded Universe
Like most things in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Luke Skywalker's death divided fans. Rather than go down in a blaze of glory, he instead projected his image across the galaxy in an attempt to distract Kylo Ren and the First Order just long enough to allow the Resistance to escape. I thought it was a smart move from Rian Johnson, with Luke recognizing that he has far more power as a symbol than as a physical person waving around a laser sword. But one of the major criticisms was that this Force projection power hadn't been properly established in the Star Wars universe.

Sam Raimi’s Surprised Evil Dead Franchise Has Lasted This Long
Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead series remains one of the most beloved horror franchises of all time. There's still something unique about the mischievous way it combines cartoonish levels of gore with goofy laughs, with Bruce Campbell making Ash Williams an indelible cinematic icon. After the first three movies (The Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness), we saw the franchise expand into comics and video games, along with a remake of the first film and the excellent Ash vs. Evil Dead TV show.

New A-Team Movie Reportedly In Development, Dave Bautista And Will Smith Eyed
One of the lesser discussed properties that Disney acquired when they bought 20th Century Fox was The A-Team. The classic 1980s TV show was last adapted for the big screen back in 2010, with Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Quinton Jackson and Sharlto Copley as the four heroes. That film received mixed reviews and just about squeaked into profitability, though on rewatch it's a perfectly serviceable action movie. But now Disney is reportedly having another go and bringing it to the big screen.

Universal Reportedly Plans To Remake Jaws, Spielberg May Produce
Back to the Future Part II predicted that by 2015 we would be up to Jaws 19 (featuring holographic advertising technology!). Sadly for fans of the franchise, the original killer shark (and its counterparts in the sequels) has lain dormant since 1987's Jaws: The Revenge. But now, according to our sources, Universal Pictures are in early development on a remake of the original Jaws.

Patrick Stewart Slams Star Trek: Nemesis, Says It Was Pretty Weak
Star Trek: Nemesis is an awful movie and a horrible sendoff to The Next Generation's characters. It squanders a young Tom Hardy, has a nonsensical plot and generally feels like something that was cobbled together with little care and attention. Since its 2002 release, the cast has since gone on to criticize Nemesis' director, Stuart Baird. He made no friends on set by proudly explaining he'd never watched an episode of The Next Generation and had no idea who the majority of the actors were (he repeatedly got LeVar Burton's name wrong, calling him Laverne). Fortunately, we have Star Trek: Picard coming very soon, which promises to give the Next Generation crew the send-off they deserve.

James Cameron Had The Perfect Reply To Criticism Of Alita: Battle Angel’s Big Eyes
Alita: Battle Angel took a while to find its legs but eventually became something of a sleeper hit. Every penny it made was well-deserved, as it's a stylish and fun sci-fi action movie with some astonishingly cool fight scenes. One of the most eye-catching elements of the movie is Alita herself, who is a CGI creation derived from motion capture by Rosa Salazar. When Alita was first unveiled in the first trailer back in December 2017 she received quite a lot of criticism. Inspired by the original anime she's an alien-looking character with unnaturally big eyes, with many claiming she falls squarely within the uncanny valley.

First Morbius Trailer Reportedly Coming Next Week
Morbius will hit theaters this summer, but Sony Pictures has been playing their cards very close to their chest about the project. We've seen a bunch of unauthorized photos and videos from the set, but absolutely no official material. That may be all set to change though, as prolific leaker Daniel Richtman has it on good authority that the first trailer will debut online sometime next week. According to his sources, Sony Pictures will also attach the trailer to Bad Boys for Life and Dolittle if you want to check it out on the big screen.
