During Avengers: Endgame's theatrical release, diehard fans pored over every inch of the movie across multiple screenings, taking in everything they could. Now, it's hit home video, meaning that obsessives can go frame-by-frame through the busier sequences to pick out details that were on screen too briefly to focus on. After all this, you'd think Avengers: Endgame couldn't hide any further secrets, yet directors Anthony and Joe Russo have just revealed a huge Easter egg that no one noticed: the debut of Nova.
Disney+ is being designed as a Netflix-killer, with the House of Mouse sparing no expense in bringing their biggest IPs to it. At the San Diego Comic Con, we got a little more information on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki and Hawkeye, but it seems that this line-up is set to expands dramatically. We already knew from Kevin Feige's comments that they have the MCU's Phase 5 already mapped out, and this will contain more Disney+ series. And one of those is due to be unveiled soon - possibly as soon as the D23 Expo that takes place this coming weekend.
Let's face it, Doom: Annihilation isn't going to be very good. First came the extremely dodgy-looking stills, then the cheap-looking trailer and the revelation that the movie was headed straight-to-video. But none of that means it couldn't be a lot of cheesy fun to enjoy whilst drunk, right?
Avengers: Endgame may feature the most star-studded cast in cinema history. The film boasts 18 Oscar winners and nominees in its roster, with the Russo Brothers pulling off an astonishing feat of organization getting them all together to shoot key scenes. But it turns out that the scene they found most difficult to capture didn't involve some glitzy screen idol. Instead, it was someone much closer to home.
When Marvel Studios announced that Avengers: Endgame was going to get a rapidly assembled new cut including deleted scenes, most assumed that the goal was to help it push past Avatar to become the highest-grossing film of all time. But now it seems that they're set to try the same trick with Spider-Man: Far From Home. Redditor natedogcata claims to be the manager of a theater, and has received an email that says:
Birds of Prey (or to give it its full title, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)) has had a rocky few weeks. A leaked plot report indicated that Ewan McGregor's take on Batman villain Black Mask may play into homophobic stereotypes, with the story apparently revolving around the character's stolen dick pics.
Last year's Venom overcame an extremely unfair critical beating to become a big hit for Sony Pictures. Fuelled by a strong international showing, the film eventually grossed an impressive $856m, making sequels all but inevitable. After a shaky start, Venom 2 is set for release on October 2, 2020 under the directorial reins of Andy Serkis. It should begin shooting soon, with the credits scene in Venom making it all but certain the movie will revolve around Woody Harrelson's Carnage. But now we're hearing rumors that Sony have confirmed their plans right up to Venom 3.
The MCU began life in Iron Man as an ostensible copy of our world. And, despite featuring world-ending alien armies, the existence of the Norse gods, actual magic and half of all living things being obliterated, in practice day-to-day life in the MCU still resembles our own. This mirroring of reality has brought with it a strange paradox: if MCU movies can show us, say, Star Wars within the MCU, what does it mean that Nick Fury is played by Samuel L Jackson, who plays Mace Windu in the prequels.
As the Friday the 13th legal saga rumbles on, fans could be forgiven for giving up hope. In a nutshell, the original film’s writer Victor Miller is engaged in a lawsuit with Sean Cunningham and Horror Inc. over the rights to the franchise.
