Kevin Smith Says Jon Hamm Would Be His Ideal Batman
Jon Hamm has been rumored for a major superhero role ever since he made his name as Don Draper in the first season of Mad Men. Over the years he's been a fan favorite bit of casting for Superman, actually played Mr Sinister in New Mutants before being cut from the film and has been repeatedly linked to The Batman. With the presumed departure of Affleck from the role that last bit of speculation has picked up steam lately and Hamm has at least one major cheerleader in his corner: director and comics fan extraordinaire Kevin Smith.

New Joker Set Pic Reveals Tons Of Cool Batman Easter Eggs
Earlier this week the internet collectively lost their minds at the first photos of Joaquin Phoenix in full Joker regalia shooting a scene taking place in a subway station. While those pictures were amazing, this shot of the Gotham City subway map being used in the film is absolutely crammed full of references to Batman's cinematic history, the Arkham series of video games, and prominent comic book writers and artists from across the years. Joker Director’s Pissed Off About Those Leaked Set Photos
Hype on the Joaquin Phoenix The Joker solo movie has gone stratospheric this week. With the film beginning its location shooting in New York, photographers have swarmed the set hoping for a glimpse of the villain in full clown regalia. And judging from all the shots that have turned up from various sources this week they've been pretty damn successful. These peeks at what's to come are great for excited fans but less so for the cast and crew. Director Todd Phillips, in particular, is sounding particularly frustrated.

Keira Knightley Says She Won’t Be Returning To Pirates Of The Caribbean
Like the cursed crew of the Black Pearl in the original Pirates of the Caribbean, it seems that the franchise is set to sail the cinematic seas forever in a state of perpetual zombie repetition, presided over by an increasingly uncharismatic Johnny Depp. Though 2017's Dead Men Tell No Tales received terrible reviews and was a domestic box office disappointment, it cleaned up overseas and eventually turned in a healthy profit, with Disney making plans to turn out a sixth entry in the franchise. But there's one long-time crew member who's now abandoned ship: Keira Knightley's Elizabeth Swann.

Joker And Harley Quinn Writers Reveal First Details On The Spinoff
It's been a busy week for the Bat-verse. We've gotten our first peeks at Joaquin Phoenix in Joker makeup, the casting for Birds of Prey has started to take shape and now we're getting some details on the Jared Leto and Margot Robbie starring Joker and Harley Quinn. Though the pair were hugely popular after Suicide Squad, the film's critical disappointment together with Warner Bros getting cold feet on the shared universe idea seems to have put the brakes on a direct sequel to the 2016 movie. With Warner Bros seemingly constantly reshuffling their superhero slate many thought that this particular project wasn't going anywhere... until now.

Turns Out Captain America: Civil War Had A Subtle Captain Marvel Reference
Captain Marvel's 1990s setting was a great decision from Marvel Studios. Not only does it let us explore a corner of the MCU we haven't seen before, but it's recent enough that we can meet characters we know from the modern films in their formative days. Perhaps the only fly in the ointment is that the film's scope is necessarily limited, as far as the MCU to date is concerned, the world was first alerted to the presence of aliens during the Battle of New York in The Avengers.

Tony Stark And Pepper Potts Reunite In New Avengers 4 Set Photo
If you believe the multiple fan theories, things are looking pretty grim for Tony Stark in Avengers 4. Rumors state that this will be Robert Downey Jr.'s last performance in the role, with him stepping aside to allow Phase 4 of the MCU to focus on new blood. But, if he's in for some miserable times, he seems to be holding up pretty well. At least, if this new photo (seen in the gallery below) with Gwyneth Paltrow from the film's reshoots is anything to go by.

Rami Malek Says Bohemian Rhapsody Won’t Ignore Freddie Mercury’s Sexuality
The upcoming Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody has had a somewhat checkered history. The project had originally cast Sacha Baron Cohen as Freddie Mercury, only for him to leave the role because he claimed they were washing out the more decadent and sexual aspects of his story. He was also a bit miffed that Mercury died in the middle of the film, with the second half focusing on how the band carried on afterwards, which seems like a very strange decision. But even with the part now being played by Rami Malek, the pic still hasn't escaped controversy.
