Sylvester Stallone Hits The Gym In New Rambo 5 Training Video
The 72-year-old Sylvester Stallone might have hung up his boxing gloves in the Rocky/Creed movies, but there's one legacy character of his that isn't going down so easily: John Rambo. Production on Rambo 5 (which may or not still be called Rambo: Last Blood) is set to begin soon and Sly is getting himself into what looks like ridiculous shape. He teased us with what he's going through with an Instagram post in which he was furiously grunting and groaning in a gym while wearing a Rambo mugshot t-shirt to Guns N' Roses' Welcome To The Jungle. As he comes to what appears to be a weights-induced climax he sits up and giggles "Welcome to the jungle."

Solo: A Star Wars Story Co-Writer Reveals Which Scenes Phil Lord And Chris Miller Created
Disney and Lucasfilm kicking Phil Lord and Chris Miller off Solo: A Star Wars Story was one of the most boneheaded decisions a studio has made in years. Lord and Miller were on an incredible hot streak, having vastly exceeded expectations with 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street and, of course, the thunderously amazing LEGO Movie. Rumor was that Lucasfilm was concerned they were making the spinoff too fun and not taking Star Wars seriously enough, but given that the finished product was a dull-as-dishwater flop that sank without a trace at the box office, their version would've had to have been an improvement.

Shazam! Will Not Feature A Superman Cameo
'Some of the coolest moments in Captain Marvel / Shazam!'s history have come with his interactions with Superman. There's a cool awkwardness that comes with a character who can match Superman in terms of power while secretly being a little kid (if Captain Marvel is more powerful than Superman please let me know in the comments). I'm thinking in particular about the episode of Justice League Unlimited where the pair square off, with Superman ending up looking like a bit of a dick by the end of the fight.

Turns Out Henry Cavill Gave Up Superman To Star In The Witcher
Last week we received the news that Henry Cavill was to play the lead role in Netflix's high profile The Witcher series. I'm a big fan of the games and books, so this was great news as far as I was concerned, but right away people began to wonder whether this was a bad omen for his future as Superman. Industry analysts were quick to pour cold water on the idea, pointing out that The Witcher's shooting schedule wouldn't interfere with Warner Bros' DCEU plans as Man of Steel II would be filming at the earliest in late 2019. Plus, Cavill's manager is an expert in arranging for her clients to be able to juggle TV and film projects.

Warner Bros. Release Official Statement On Henry Cavill’s Exit As Superman
It's all kicking off today. Earlier this morning, THR reported that Henry Cavill had hung up his cape and departed the Superman role amidst a wide-ranging DCEU shake-up. We'd already known that there were some problems negotiating his contract to appear in future movies that had also jeopardized his cameo in Shazam!, but most industry watchers had expected Cavill's team and Warner Bros. to hash something out so they could get on with production of Man of Steel II for a 2020 release.

Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League were intended to provide the bedrock for a cinematic universe to rival the mighty MCU. Ever since Batman v Superman opened to savage reviews things have been, on the whole, going wrong for DC. The most dramatic failure was the total disaster of Justice League, generally considered an embarrassing mess best forgotten. Now, with Ben Affleck extremely unlikely to don the Batsuit again anytime soon, their plans have received another blow as Henry Cavill has announced he's done playing Superman.

Marvel Studios And Disney Begin Their Black Panther Oscar Campaign
Marvel Studios and Disney are very serious about Black Panther's awards season prospects and are now beginning a comprehensive and long-lasting campaign to convince the Academy that it deserves recognition. Some might think they're fighting an uphill battle, too, as the Academy has never smiled upon 'genre' pictures, with superhero movies generally receiving nods for special effects or makeup. The closest one's come to genuine success is Heath Ledger's posthumous Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for The Dark Knight.
