Why That Rumored Obi-Wan Movie Plot Synopsis Is Probably Garbage
It'd be pretty funny if Disney and Lucasfilm decided they weren't actually going to make an Obi-Wan Kenobi standalone movie. After all, the internet has already decided that Stephen Daldry is set to direct, that a plot has been settled on and that shooting is to begin in Spring 2019. More recently, TMZ revealed a supposed synopsis, which explained that this was to be a prequel to A New Hope that shows Obi-Wan forced out of hiding on Tatooine when tensions rise “between the local farmers and a tribe of Sand People – headed by a ruthless war chief.”

Andy Serkis Is Interested In Taking A Role In Matt Reeves’ The Batman
I suspect most of you are bored as hell with the ongoing will-he/won't-he Batfleck saga - I certainly am. It feels like every couple of weeks Ben Affleck is either definitely, absolutely, for-sure-this-time done with the cape and cowl, or eager to get back into the DCEU and team up with Matt Reeves for The Batman. So it's nice to have a bit of The Batman news that's not Batfleck related. Said story comes courtesy of JoBlo, who spoke with Andy Serkis in connection with his new movie Mowgli.

Deadpool 2 Breaks R-Rated Record For Thursday Night Box Office
A couple of months back, the Deadpool 2 ship was looking a bit wobbly. There were reports that test audiences weren't enjoying the movie, and the simple fact that a successful comedy sequel is a relatively rare beast had people worried. But with rave critical reviews and positive audience reactions, it's looking as if the Merc with a Mouth is onto another winner, which is already translating into broken box office records.

Universal’s Dark Universe May Not Be Dead After All
It's safe to say that Universal's Dark Universe hasn't gone to plan. Intended to emulate the wildly successful Marvel Cinematic Universe, but with classic movie monsters instead of superheroes, the films have repeatedly sputtered. 2014's Dracula Untold was originally intended to launch the idea, but its critical and commercial failure led Universal to sever connections with it and say that 2017's The Mummy was actually going to be the first Dark Universe film - for real this time!

Batwoman May Force The Arrowverse To Deal With Its Batman Problem
There's long been a Batman-shaped hole in the Arrowverse. This is entirely understandable, of course. As one of Warner Bros.' most valuable IPs, they're very protective of depictions of the character and they've historically been worried that a live-action TV version of the Dark Knight would confuse audiences used to whoever's playing him on the big screen.

Deadpool 2 Writer Promises That X-Force Will Be R-Rated And Raunchy
While the longterm future of Fox's X-Universe should theoretically be in doubt given the impending Disney buyout, it seems like future X-Men projects are still moving ahead full steam at the studio. And with Deadpool 2 out today, receiving great reviews and set to clean up at the box office, who can blame them? It's been a stratospheric rise for the irreverent superhero, having gone from cult comic book hero to the mainstream in just a couple of years.
