Jar Jar Binks Returns In Star Wars: Age Of Republic Special #1

Oh man. Really? With Disney purchasing Star Wars and sweeping the prequels under the rug, most assumed that annoying racist caricature and perpetual punchline Jar Jar Binks was history. But now he's back with his own story in this January's Star Wars: Age of Republic Special #1, written by Chip Zdarsky. The one-shot comic promises to give us new stories of characters from the prequel era, with the cover featuring Mace Windu, Jar Jar Binks, Clone Captain Rex and Asajj Ventress (Please correct me if I'm wrong on those last two.)

Ben Affleck Admits That 2003’s Daredevil Was Kinda Silly

Ben Affleck's time as Daredevil isn't remembered particularly fondly. Mark Steven Johnson's film is generally considered to be near the bottom of the barrel of the superhero genre, and though I've got a soft spot for Colin Farrell's take on Bullseye, I have to agree with everyone. Even Stan Lee didn't think much of the movie, commenting that: "They just wrote the whole thing wrong. They made him too tragic."

Is Marvel Teasing Season 2 Of The Defenders With This New Photo?

The Defenders wasn't quite the show we were hoping for. You'd think that by now Marvel Studios would've gotten the hang of bringing together a disparate group of heroes into one team, but here the execution was a bit sloppy and (as star Charlie Cox admits), the pacing was too slow. Nonetheless, it had potential, which made the apparent cancellation of season 2 pretty painful for Marvel fans.

Rupert Grint Explains Why He Almost Quit Harry Potter After Goblet Of Fire

When they were casting Harry, Hermione and Ron for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone the casting director reportedly intentionally looked for children from 'normal' families. They knew that whoever they cast would be involved in the franchise for the majority of their childhood and didn't want any backstage drama disrupting that. And it seems that they chose well: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint all turned out relatively normally for child stars. Having said that, there were pressures. Grint (now 30!) recently opened up to the Independent about how starring in Harry Potter took its toll:

Jon Favreau’s Star Wars TV Show The Mandalorian To Get Huge Merchandising Push

Disney clearly have high hopes for Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian TV show. They're pouring $100 million into the ten episode first season, it's the tentpole show for their upcoming streaming service and, judging by this latest report, is going to have a suitably Star Wars sized merchandising push. This news comes via The Blast, who have secured documents showing trademark applications made by LucasFilm to secure "The Mandalorian" for products including (but certainly not limited to) "toys, games, hand-held units for video games, books, school supplies, temporary tattoos, clothing and footwear." For the truly dedicated fan it also seems as if a Mandalorian helmet replica also being sold.

Another Character’s Now Been Confirmed For Fantastic Beasts 3

Yesterday, we learned that DC had put the brakes on their solo Flash movie, with its release date now scheduled for sometime in 2021 (if it happens at all). Their reasoning for this is simple scheduling conflicts. Prior to the pic's many delays, star Ezra Miller would have been able to film both Fantastic Beasts 3 and the superhero movie, but now it transpires that he only has time for one. And, in this instance at least, the latter lost out.

Avengers 4 Directors Say Mark Ruffalo’s Still Fired For Spoiling The Title

Right now, Mark Ruffalo is like a lovable pet dog with an unfortunate habit of shitting on the rug. You want to be angry at him, but he's just so damn sweet and likeable that you can't muster up any anger. That's the situation Marvel Studios and the Russo Brothers are in, with Ruffalo's reputation as a one-man spoiler machine jeopardizing their carefully laid marketing plans for Avengers 4, which led the Infinity War directors to jokingly sack him via Twitter.

The Walking Dead Just Scored Its Lowest Ratings Ever

Season 9 of The Walking Dead was supposed to be a return to form after a somewhat muted reaction to season 8. It seems that this isn't entirely going to play, though, as the second episode drew a weak 2.0 rating in the crucial 18-49 demographic, bringing in just 4.9 million viewers (that includes live and same day). It's a pretty damn deep drop for the show, especially considering that the previous low point was way back in season 1 (with a 2.4 rating).
