Netflix original Narcos has spent two critically acclaimed seasons chronicling Colombia's battle with drug kingpin par excellence Pablo Escobar. But the explosive season 2 finale ended with (spoiler alert), Escobar being unceremoniously executed. Many assumed that, with him out of the picture, Narcos had reached the end of its natural lifespan. So when Netflix made the decision to renew it for a further two seasons, fans reacted with surprise (and more than a little skepticism).
DC and Warner Bros.' long-running attempts to get a live-action Teen Titans TV show off the ground have been rather difficult. About this time last year, we learned that TNT had passed on the series and it was rumored the project had bitten the dust. Fortunately, DC has kept the flame burning and we recently got confirmation that the show, now simply called Titans, would be one of the first to air on the upcoming DC-only digital streaming service (along with the long delayed third season of Young Justice).
Strangers, the somewhat confusingly titled sequel to 2008's The Strangers, has officially wrapped. Directed by Johannes Roberts, responsible for this summer's fun shark-em-up 47 Meters Down, the film will chronicle another group of innocents terrorized by a group of masked psychos.
Star Wars might take place "in a galaxy far, far away," but at least some of it is going to come a bit closer to home - in spectacular fashion. We've known that Disney is developing a Star Wars-themed 'land' for their flagship parks in California and Florida for some time now and fans have feverishly imagined what it might contain. Well, you can quit imagining now, as earlier today at the D23 convention, which is taking place over the next few days, they unveiled a scale model of the park and it's safe to say it lives up to (and exceeds) expectations.
GLOW is a bright jewel in the already impressive Netflix crown, presenting us with ten flawless episodes in which Alison Brie has never been funnier. Skip at your own peril.
I really, really want Luc Besson's Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets to do well. The trailers have promised a mind-meltingly, beautiful psychedelic science fiction fantasy that looks to be taking design cues from The Fifth Element. In comparison to the other blockbusters on offer this summer, it stands out by a mile, promising a shot of neon-soaked beauty against the gritty concrete cityscapes of its competition.
Fox is apparently eager to give its X-Men franchise a shot in the arm, with reports saying that they're targeting Angelina Jolie for an as yet unknown role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
