New Report Says That Gambit Will Be A Crime/Heist Film
We still can't quite believe the Gambit solo film might actually get made. Channing Tatum was chosen for the role way back in the mid 2000s, but had to duck out of X-Men Origins: Wolverine to appear in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place), with Taylor Kitsch taking the part instead. Which was, at the time, a three-picture deal to play the character.

Joss Whedon Won’t Get A Director’s Credit On Justice League
Two interesting nuggets of Justice League news broke this evening. Firstly, to the shock of nobody, the film has been officially rated PG-13. While that comes as no surprise, it does at least suggest that Warner Bros. have finally finished their extensive editing process and probably won't need to call Ezra Miller back again to deliver more snarky one-liners that they can awkwardly edit into the action scenes. The other, more interesting, story is that Zack Snyder will take the sole directing credit, with Joss Whedon to either go uncredited or receive some lesser billing.

Taking a job on a Star Wars film must be simultaneously thrilling and terrifying. On one hand, the movie is all but guaranteed to be a success, you'll get a chance to appear in one of the most iconic franchises of all-time and, if the whole acting career doesn't work out, you can make a living on the convention circuit signing glossy headshots for sweaty fans. On the other hand, though, screw this up and it'll follow you to your grave, as hardcore franchise fans will not forgive anyone for messing with their baby.

Ben Affleck Reminds Us (Again) How Much He Loves Playing Batman
Ben Affleck's tenure as the Caped Crusader has been dogged by rumors that he's set to quit the part after Justice League, with each flurry of gossip quickly followed by an interview with Affleck where he states that there's no greater pleasure than playing Batman, that he'll play the character for as long as Warner Bros. will have him, and now, in an interview with Geek Magazine, that portraying the hero is a dream come true.

John Boyega Says Star Wars: Episode IX Will Give Us The War To End All Wars
Star Wars: Episode IX still feels a very long way away (two years to be precise) and really, all we know about it to date is that Princess Leia's role has been reworked to deal with the tragic death of Carrie Fisher and that Colin Trevorrow has been booted from the movie in favor of J.J. Abrams. Obviously, we'll have a better idea where things are going after we see The Last Jedi, but right now it's a big mystery wrapped up in an enigma.

New Characters Are Coming To The Potterverse In Fantastic Beasts 2
What better way to pep up Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2 than to cast the son of an actual magician as Philosopher's Stone creating alchemist Nicholas Flamel? That's probably why Brontis Jodorowsky, son of Alejandro Jodorowsky, has been cast as the character. Now, you may be asking yourself, "who the hell is that and why should I care?" which is understandable given that his film career to date has largely consisted of very strange, arthouse movies directed by his awesome dad (who's seriously a straight-up magician, check it out).
