I'm a writer/editor who's been at the site since 2015. I cover politics, weird history, video games and... well, anything really. Keep it breezy, keep it light, keep it straightforward.
Inhumans is due to premiere tonight on ABC, but advance word after its brief run at IMAX theatres has not been good. Rotten Tomatoes has concluded that the show "sets a new low standard for the MCU," with reviewers criticizing its soapy melodramatics and an overall air of cheapness. Ouch!
Bruce Campbell will always be associated with Ash Williams from The Evil Dead. From the series' splattered beginnings in the 1980s through to the bizarre yet awesome medieval spoof The Army of Darkness, through various spinoff videogames and, most recently, to the sleeper hit Ash vs. Evil Dead. There's just something about his goofy, matinee idol looks and famously prominent chin that makes him the perfect foil for the deadite hordes.
Ever since The Avengers cleaned up at the box office and proved that a shared cinematic universe works, other studios have been hungry to emulate it. One of the hardest working candidates was Warner Bros., with the DC universe initially appearing like more than a match for whatever Marvel could come up with. But things change...
Season 8 of The Walking Dead is shaping up to be the show's most explosive to date, so it's probably appropriate that it's officially been titled 'All Out War'. The news comes courtesy of Comicbook.com, who have also debuted a teaser trailer that gives us a mouth-watering taste of the carnage to come.
Ant-Man & The Wasp is already deep into filming in Atlanta and there's been a steady trickle of leaks courtesy of on-set footage obtained by the public. Just yesterday, we got a fuzzy look at the villainous Ghost and now, we've got some footage of her tussling with The Wasp. Well, I say tussling, but it's more of a vicious looking shove. I'm sure it'll be nicely jazzed up in the movie.
With the first full trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi right around the corner now and the film itself tantalizingly within reach, we're about to get a whole lot of questions answered about what's going on in the Star Wars universe post-The Force Awakens. One of the biggest mysteries surrounds the Knights of Ren, six or seven Force users who once counted Kylo Ren as a member.
Man, it really sucks being a teenager. You've got to worry about curfews, teachers on your case about grades, being popular in school, getting that first boy/girlfriend, trying to keep your telepathic dinosaur buddy out of trouble, finding out your parents are secretly supervillains... Actually, maybe only the Runaways only have to worry about those last two.
I was recently asked to review Jeepers Creeper 3, the long-awaited third entry in the franchise. But, mysteriously for a horror film being released around Halloween, I just couldn't find a screening. I looked high and low for one, but for some weird reason the studio seemed to be keeping a very tight lid on things. Could the film really be that bad? Were they trying to bury it? Was it simply not finished?
After a sterling first solo outing in the MCU with Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland's webslinger is next scheduled to do battle alongside Marvel's greatest heroes in Avengers: Infinity War. It sounds as if he's going to swing out of that apocalypse relatively unscathed as well, as Marvel and Sony have already confirmed that we're going to see a Spider-Man: Homecoming 2. Not only that, but the sequel may also herald the return of a villain from the first film.
