Taron Egerton's star is on the ascendant right now. He broke out as scally turned secret agent Eggsy Unwin in Matthew Vaughn's surprise smash-hit Kingsman and is soon to reprise the role in the hotly anticipated Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Now, we're hearing that he might be lined up for an altogether more tuneful role as Reggie Dwight, aka Elton John in the long rumoured biopic Rocketman.

Say what you like about Todd MacFarlane's comic writing skills, the man is a beacon for those who value creator's rights. Since hellbound superhero Spawn debuted in the 90s, MacFarlane has kept an iron grip on the rights to the character. This level of control allows him to do whatever he feels best for his creation but, let's face it, makes it a little difficult for any movie studio to give him complete creative control.

Will The Next Ghostbusters Film Bring Harold Ramis Back From The Dead?
One of the more peculiar choices in last year's disappointing Ghostbusters reboot/remake was seeing the familiar actors from the original movies in cameo roles as different characters. Were fans really hankering to see Bill Murray return to the franchise as Martin Heiss, or Dan Ackroyd popping up as a random taxi driver? No. We want Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore. We'd love Egon Spengler too, but.. well, Harold Ramis is dead. So that's out, right?

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Wraps Productions As The Stars Share Set Pics
Jurassic World might have split audience opinion right down the middle, but boy howdy did it make a lot of money. We still don't know a ton about the sequel just yet, but J.A. Bayona, taking the directing seat from Colin Trevorrow (who's presumably neck deep in pre-production on Star Wars: Episode IX), has promised that "we are going to places where the saga has never been before" and that this'll be the Empire Strikes Back of the franchise.

Netflix original Narcos has spent two critically acclaimed seasons chronicling Colombia's battle with drug kingpin par excellence Pablo Escobar. But the explosive season 2 finale ended with (spoiler alert), Escobar being unceremoniously executed. Many assumed that, with him out of the picture, Narcos had reached the end of its natural lifespan. So when Netflix made the decision to renew it for a further two seasons, fans reacted with surprise (and more than a little skepticism).
