Having been a fan of the franchise for as long as I can remember, you'd better believe that Blumhouse's addition to the Halloween series is among my most anticipated films to roll out in 2018. Like many of you, I'm intrigued to see how it'll take the story in a new direction, effectively ignoring all sequels that came in between.
Though I didn’t detest 2011’s Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds as some others may have, I found that it ultimately fell short of what animated offerings such as First Flight and Emerald Knights achieved. That said, I remain optimistic for the long-gestating Green Lantern Corps.
Though I strongly advise not holding your breath when it comes to waiting for a fourth entry into the franchise, us fans of The Matrix Trilogy at least have something pretty cool that we can look forward to in the near future. As it turns out, the trinity of movies (pun intended) that changed the game in so many ways will soon be getting the 4K Ultra HD treatment.
As wildly popular and successful as Supernatural has proven to be (it’s been renewed for a fourteenth season, after all), the seemingly immortal horror series has yet to produce a spinoff that’s made it beyond the backdoor pilot stage. So far, both “Bloodlines” and “Wayward Sisters” failed to gain enough traction with the fanbase as to allow for an offshoot, even if I assumed the latter was pretty much a lock.
It's not often that we think or talk about the religious beliefs of our favorite superheroes, barring the times when writers blatantly state from where these characters are coming. For example, we're all aware of how Daredevil's a devout Catholic, or how Batwoman's Jewish.
For the past few years, DC has partnered with comic shops, major bookstores and other various retailers in order to bring us Batman Day. Serving as a celebration of all things Dark Knight, each have offered free reprints (and sometimes new stories altogether) of some of the Caped Crusader’s key adventures, not to mention other promo goodies. Basically, it feels like Free Comic Book Day all over again, only with the focus placed squarely on the timeless icon.
Though the Marvel Cinematic Universe is populated with numerous cool superheroes, there are few who've risen to the levels of sheer badassery for which Captain America and Black Widow are known. Having been around since the earlier films of Phase One, both have won over countless True Believers thanks to memorable performances given by Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson, respectively.
If we've learned anything about Stephen Amell, it seems like he's among the first to hear of cool things about what's in the pipeline for Arrow, after producers and network executives, of course. Don't forget, he's the one who broke the news this past May confirming that Batwoman will debut in the next major crossover, and may have very well seen Ruby Rose in full costume already.
Having known since last month that Cicada will serve as the big bad throughout The Flash‘s fifth season, it’s about time we begin learning more about the guest villains popping up in Central City over the course of the next year. And now that the floodgates have been opened following Kiara Madeira being cast as Spin, it looks like another will soon be added to the club.
Now that we know Gotham's fifth season will be its last, it sounds like the producers are going with the "kitchen sink" mentality as they continue crossing villains off their bucket list. Already, we know that the likes of Scarface and Mother will pop up, but we've also been told to stay attentive if indeed the true Harley Quinn is to make an appearance.
