Now that we've learned Black Mask will be the villain in the upcoming Birds of Prey movie, one would assume that casting will get underway before long. After all, if cameras are to begin rolling in January of 2019, then we should soon find out which other actors and actresses will be backing up Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn.
Though Sylvester Stallone has certainly starred in his share of movies over the years, there are two roles that immediately spring to mind whenever his name is mentioned, those being Rocky Balboa and John Rambo. Having originally played them at a younger age, Sly eventually reprised both decades later, further cementing their place in the annals of cinematic history.
Aside from knowing that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn was a lock for the upcoming Birds of Prey movie, more details regarding the girl gang flick’s plot are slowly being divulged. Last month, we finally learned which other characters will be invited to the party, something we'll reiterate before proceeding.
As much as I've dug Gotham for the past few years, it's hard not noticing that Bruce Wayne is still at a very young age. And though he's slowly begun living the vigilante lifestyle, actor David Mazouz doesn't boast the hulking proportions that normally come to mind when we think of the Caped Crusader.
As wildly popular and successful as Supernatural has proven to be (it's been renewed for a fourteenth season, after all), the seemingly immortal horror series yet to produce as spinoff that's made it beyond the backdoor pilot stage. So far, both "Bloodlines" and "Wayward Sisters" failed to gain enough traction with the fanbase as to allow for an offshoot, even if I assumed the latter was pretty much a lock.
If you're even remotely familiar with the Batman mythos, then you're well aware of how the Dark Knight and his allies boast what is arguably the deepest rogues gallery in all of comics. Fortunately for fans of animation and the Gotham TV series, we've seen many of the villains making it up, yet the film franchise hasn't really gotten past the usual suspects.
Like some of you, I've had recent suspicions of my own that an Arrowverse series may be on the chopping block come next spring so that room can be made for the eventual Batwoman show spinning out of the next crossover event. After all, the network had said in the past that they had no intention of adding any more DC series to their prime time lineup before Kate Kane was brought aboard, and there's only so much money that can be allocated to these big budget affairs.
When we think of various superhero teams, there are naturally a few quintessential members who immediately spring to mind. But sometimes it can be fun to really mix up things, such as having Darkseid join the Justice League, or seeing Domino possibly being added to the Avengers.
When it comes to certain superhero groups, it stands to reason that each iteration hopefully include at least a few of the core characters most fans imagine when said clique comes to mind. In the case of the Justice League, it’s hard to picture it functioning without the likes of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, just as we’d expect Iron Man, Thor and Captain America to show up in anything Avengers-related.
Though we’ll unfortunately have to wait until 2019 for Gotham‘s fifth and final season to premiere, we’ve already been teased a generous amount regarding what the final leg of the journey has in store. To date, it’s been said Bruce Wayne will take up the mantle of Batman in the end, in addition to villains such as Scarface and Mother showing up.
