For the longest time, flashbacks were pretty much a given whenever one tuned in for an episode of Arrow. But after season 5 had passed, we learned the full breadth of Oliver Queen's time spent away from Star City. As such, season 6 more so relied on what was occurring in the present, but utilized flashbacks if certain episodes required more background regarding specific characters, with Deathstroke and Ricardo Diaz being prime examples. (I'm still waiting on Black Siren's origin story, by the way.)
Despite 2018 being jam-packed with genre flicks, Aquaman is the comic book movie that I’m most looking forward to this year because it’s something fresh. Sure, we may have paid a brief visit to Atlantis in Justice League, but this is a corner of the DC Extended Universe that is largely unexplored – and I can’t wait to see what director James Wan has in store for us.
With each passing season, it's a given that our favorite DC TV shows add a few more heroes and villains to the mix in order to keep things fresh. Already, we know that Batwoman will be showing up in next fall's mega crossover event, but we'd be fools to assume Arrow's producers don't have at least several other aces up their sleeves.
With each passing year, it seems like we've come to expect for Tom Cavanagh to give yet another take on Harrison Wells. After his initial attempt - the Reverse-Flash - met its (first) demise all the way back in season 1's finale, the show's sophomore year saw the actor stick around as Earth-2's Harry Wells. Then, Earth-19's H.R. Wells graced TV screens in season 3, before Harry came back for the latest run following the death of his replacement.
While The Flash hinting at its next season's big bad is a seldom occurrence in finales, it's probably safe to say that many of us went into last night's episode expecting to be left some sort of breadcrumb. After all, we were told to anticipate two cliffhangers (more on that later), but we were ultimately left in the dark in this regard.
So far, all of Kevin Smith's endeavors involving the Arrowverse have proven to be successes. Having directed various episodes of The Flash and Supergirl, the lauded filmmaker and lifelong DC fan seems to have found a home away from home.
Normally, when we spend months upon months pondering the identity of somebody on The Flash, it's usually the villain. But this time around, we had a more direct big bad to contend with in the form of Clifford DeVoe, so the producers decided to let speculation swirl around the Mystery Girl first introduced in last fall's Crisis on Earth-X crossover event.
Though this year's show marked my seventh consecutive trip to Motor City Comic Con, it may very well go down as my most memorable. Sure, I'm still fatigued after trying to experience as many facets of the event as I could, but every moment and penny spent were 100% worth it.
While last week's season finale of Arrow had the intensity factor going for it, The Flash's concluding chapter for the current run is able to entice viewers by pulling back the curtain on various enigmas. In fact, aside from the big showdown with the Thinker, we have two cliffhangers awaiting us tomorrow night.
Throughout the years, Batman has allowed for a variety of young folks to take up the mantle of Robin on the comic book side of things. Whether it be Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Carrie Kelley, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown or Damian Wayne, it goes without saying that each have a rabid fanbase to call their own.
