When any sort of TV series enjoys much longevity, it shouldn't come as much surprise once a regime change occurs. In the case of Arrow, we'll soon bear witness to just that as some fresh eyes will be overseeing the Emerald Archer beginning with the show's seventh season.
Given the multitude of villains that Gotham has adapted from the comics, it comes as a relief that the series has at long last gotten around to introducing the Joker. Well, at least in every sense except for name. Yes, we have a few episodes ahead of us that'll show us just how this Jeremiah Valeska thing will play out, but hey, at least we're finally getting a pale-skinned Cameron Monaghan in a purple suit, right?
Even if you aren't a fan of Superman, you can't deny that he paved the way for all superheroes to follow. To say the first issue of Action Comics that shipped all the way back in 1938 was a game-changer is quite the understatement, for it forever reshaped the pop culture landscape.
Despite Clint Barton having played a significant role in Marvel Studios' previous two mega team-up flicks, Hawkeye has found himself largely absent from Avengers: Infinity War's marketing. Heck, the poor guy was even cropped out of a recent promo! As the late Rodney Dangerfield would say, the archer has got no respect.
I don't know what's been up with Zack Snyder as of late, but the guy sure has been enjoying sharing all kinds of interesting trivia pertaining to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in recent memory. Sometimes, he may provide answers regarding things that have puzzled moviegoers for the past couple years, or he may declassify some cool pictures. Either way, he's doing a fine job of keeping DC fans engaged.
To say that the past few months have been a trying time for Team Arrow is quite the understatement. I mean, Oliver Queen was able to get by when Mr. Terrific, Black Canary and Wild Dog decided to go off and do their own thing, but the exit of Thea compounded with John Diggle's decision to sign up with ARGUS may be too much for the Emerald Archer to take. As such, he's decided to go back to basics, essentially getting back to his original mission.
Had you tuned in for last week's episode of The Flash, you're probably well aware of how there may soon be a shakeup to the show's status quo. And no, we're not talking about the possible return of Eobard Thawne, but rather, something that may greatly affect the future of one Cisco Ramon.
Among the many things the current season of Arrow has going for it, the elder series in The CW's DC TV universe can lay claim to bringing back a number of fan favorites in recent memory. Already, we've been witness to some unforgettable returns made by Manu Bennett's Deathstroke and Colton Haynes' Roy Harper (who'll be rejoining the principal cast next year), with even Josh Segarra reprising his role of Prometheus as part of Oliver Queen's Vertigo-induced hallucination in last night's episode!
Considering that Black Lightning will be one of the first DC TV shows to end its run for the current season, perhaps that's what makes it appropriate the hit new series be the first to arrive on home video this summer. Who knows, the early jump to store shelves may inspire curious viewers-to-be to pick up a copy and hop aboard the bandwagon.
To me, there's just something wrong about whenever a villain violates the sanctity of a superhero's home base. Really, whenever Ra's al Ghul or the Joker have crashed the Batcave, or when Lex Luthor set foot in the Fortress of Solitude, it just seemed like such a perversion that'd cause excitement knowing the story would be taken to unexpected places.
