With the second season premiere of Titans coming at us one week from now, we don't see the marketing machine slowing down anytime soon. Just recently, yet another new trailer blew us away, with a poster featuring the entire cast launching alongside it.
One element among many that I loved about 2018's Halloween was how it was so perfectly intertwined with the 1978 original. Naturally, that came with the territory because David Gordon Green's blockbuster ignored all films sandwiched in between, but I couldn't help thinking how similar the two flicks felt. In my view, Green understands what makes this franchise tick almost as well as John Carpenter himself.
Even though the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover will encompass the Arrowverse as a whole, we've been more so associating it with Arrow alone because that particular show's eighth and final season will essentially serve as a prelude to the event. As such, all eyes will be on Oliver Queen as we march toward the cataclysmic epic.
You know, I've often wondered why The Flash has emerged as the most popular show in the Arrowverse. Though I admittedly prefer Arrow above all others, I do love both series. In my view, The Flash probably began outshining its progenitor by blending action, mystery, science fiction, comedy and drama so well that it's captivated even casual fans of the superhero genre. Seriously, I'm sometimes surprised to learn which people tune in regularly.
Despite it sharing some similarities to 2015's Genisys, Terminator: Dark Fate sure is shaping up nicely. To its credit, James Cameron is back on board in a sense, and Linda Hamilton is returning as Sarah Connor. Arnold Schwarzenegger is there to top the bill, of course, with Edward Furlong coming back as John Connor after being succeeded by three other actors in the time since Judgment Day enjoyed its theatrical run.
If you're anything like me, then you simply can't get enough of the Arrowverse. Fortunately, there have been other ways for us to get our fix outside of the TV series themselves. Though it sure would be nice to receive a video game of some sort, tie-in novels, comic books and animated movies/web series have done a fine job of broadening the experience.
Although Michael B. Jordan's name being attached to Superman is certainly nothing new, we're here to discuss a different DC Comics character today. As it turns out, we're being told that he's being eyed to play none other than Black Lightning.
As you may recall, word got out earlier this month that Capcom has indeed been working on a new game in the Resident Evil series, and had even hired play-testers to help fine tune the experience. Because of that, we all began wondering if the gestating project was either Resident Evil 8, a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis or even Resident Evil: Revelations 3 (I wouldn't mind hearing more from Moira Burton's pottymouth if that one panned out).
Much like The Flash, this summer hasn't yielded much in the way of Supergirl news following San Diego Comic-Con. It seems like we have something new pertaining to Arrow to discuss nearly every day, but that's to be expected with that particular series heading into its eighth and final season.
Even though it's always great seeing new stills offered up by some of the major movie magazines, there's nothing quite like seeing new footage while we attempt tiding ourselves over for a certain theatrical release. And on that note, I'll reference the new Joker trailer that dropped earlier today. Considering how that's my most anticipated film for 2019, you'd better believe I'm geeked.
