After being left disappointed by the first few episodes in the current season of The Flash, I’m glad to say that I’m starting to feel as glued to my TV set as I was back in seasons 1 and 2. After thinking the producers wouldn’t be able to top the shocking midseason finale, I was quite pleased to see them continue leaving us in a state of disbelief after viewing last week’s “The Trial of the Flash.”
Even though we finally received the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War a couple months back, it stands to reason that each and every one of us are dying to see more teasers before the big team-up flick storms cinemas. Of course, we’re likely to see another full trailer or two before opening weekend arrives, but the interim is starting to heat up, with a Marvel Cinematic Universe recap video and international trailer surfacing just last week.
To say that last night's episode of Supergirl delivered some unexpected moments is quite the understatement. Sure, Kara may not have learned the true identity of Reign, but she did come pretty close. Still, the death of Livewire and the introduction of a new Worldkiller, Purity, are moments we won't soon forget.
Now that production on Blumhouse’s Halloween sequel is finally underway, we expect news regarding the next entry in the enduring horror franchise to trickle in on a regular basis. In this particular case, it's not a casting announcement per se, but rather, hints at a certain location to be explored.
While we continue playing the "will he or won't he?" game when it comes to whether director Matt Reeves will include Deathstroke in his upcoming film, The Batman, we can take solace in knowing that those two titans have other means of releasing their aggression on each other. We are, of course, referring to the very medium that spawned them: Comic books.
Even though many enduring elements that we now associate with Superman were products of the Silver Age or the 1940's radio drama, it's important that we never forget the contributions that Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster made to comic books - and pop culture as a whole - when they created the Man of Steel for Action Comics #1 back in 1938. After all, that served as the very blueprint for the superhero genre as we know it today.
I think it's safe to say that the midseason premiere of The Flash caught many of us Arrowverse fans off-guard. Sure, Barry Allen being on trial for the "murder" of Clifford DeVoe was enough of a shock in itself, but who among you actually expected him to be convicted?
So far this season, Supergirl has had to contend with what could be argued is her most formidable foe to date: Reign. Not only has this year's big bad already handed the Girl of Steel a brutal beatdown like no other, but our heroine was rendered comatose for a while due to the encounter.
Now that production on Blumhouse's Halloween reboot is finally underway, we expect news regarding the next entry in the enduring horror franchise to trickle in on a regular basis. Funny enough, it's the aptly named Halloween Daily News that we have to thank for today's helping.
Now that we know director Matt Reeves is knee-deep in formulating the story for The Batman, moviegoers and pundits alike can’t help but speculate which villains he’ll utilize. Will he retain Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke, whom we know to be a product of Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns’ canned screenplay? Or will he play it safe by incorporating fan favorite baddies like the Joker and Harley Quinn?
