As a child, I was one to collect various comic book adaptations and novelizations of the movies that I enjoyed. Not only was it because I loved to read, but also because the wait for a movie to arrive on home video was much longer than it is today. Yes, I grew up in the VHS era, possibly causing some of you to wonder how I endured such primitive times.
Earlier this week, many fans of Gotham were taken aback upon learning that, according to both David Mazouz and Cameron Monaghan, Jerome Valeska is NOT the man who'll be revealed to be the Joker. Really, despite all the stars that have thus far been aligned and a Joker card being proudly displayed in the trailer for the midseason premiere, we're told that it's simply not meant to be.
Earlier this evening, I was thinking about how it's kind of funny that the cancellation of Constantine's eponymous TV series has actually been somewhat beneficial to the character. Yes, it completely sucks that such a fine show was cut short after only thirteen episodes, but now, the fans are sent into a frenzy any time he pops up in an Arrowverse series or animated movie. Basically, it's an event of sorts.
Over the years, Scooby-Doo and the gang have taken part in some memorable team-ups. Believe it or not, those meddling kids can lay claim to having met the likes of Batman and Robin, the Three Stooges, the Harlem Globetrotters and even the cast of Gilligan's Island. In fact, DC even published an ongoing comic titled Scooby-Doo Team-up in recent years.
Even though a crossover between Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is no longer likely to occur, us fans who appreciate the darker side of Archie Comics have something else to look forward. And no, it's not an adaptation of either Afterlife with Archie or Jughead: The Hunger - at least, not yet.
As somebody who had the original two Ghostbusters movies memorized at an early age, you could say that I had waited pretty much my entire life for a threequel. Actually, we kind of got one in the form of a video game nearly a decade ago, but it didn't solve the problem of not having something to enjoy on the silver screen.
Even though we were promised no major crossover miniseries for at least 18 months after the conclusion of Secret Empire, that doesn’t mean there won’t be other storylines that’ll shake the Marvel Universe to its core. In fact, the House of Ideas kicked off 2018 with a bang, thanks in no small part to Avengers: No Surrender.
By now, I’m sure many of you know to stay after the credits whenever seeing the latest Marvel movie and, likewise, wonder where the heck everyone else is going when they begin to roll. I mean, haven’t people learned their lesson on numerous occasions since the first Iron Man flick debuted back in 2008?
"Yes, father. I shall become a bat."
Thanks to Frank Miller's classic tale Batman: Year One, those are the words we normally associate with the moment when Bruce Wayne fully realizes his destiny. Well, there were past variations, but the above words were more comparable to something you'd actually hear someone say out loud. Admit it: Not many people shout "Omen!" when nobody else is in the room.
"We are the Flash." When Iris West said those words to Barry Allen earlier this season, a sizable chunk of the viewing audience let out a groan similar to what they'd normally let loose whenever Felcity Smoak offers up such a gem. But, in truth, Iris was just showing moral support for her super husband.
