Much like the comic books that inspired it, The Flash hasn't been shy when it comes to exploring the multiverse. To date, we've seen the Scarlet Speedster and his pals team up with or battle heroes and villains from a variety of parallel Earths, be they do-gooders like Jay Garrick or those as vile as the New Reichsman from Earth-X.
To date, the Arrowverse has seen no shortage of masked villains and, truth be told, it'll be a long time before I forget how we waited on pins and needles before learning the true identities of the likes of the Reverse-Flash, Zoom, Savitar and Prometheus.
From the start, Legends of Tomorrow set itself apart from the rest of the Arrowverse pack by being a true ensemble show – and there was also the time travel element, of course. But, as the series endures, its lineup has gradually seen its fair share of changes, not unlike any heavy metal band that’s been around for a number of years.
Love him or hate him, you have to acknowledge that every superhero you admire today owes their existence to the Man of Steel – and it all started back in 1938 with the release of Action Comics #1. In those pages, we saw the debut of Superman, who soon went on to completely take over that title and headline an ongoing series of his own.
As a fellow fan of the Suicide Squad, I hope many of you will agree with me in saying that 2018 is thus far looking pretty good for our favorite group of misfits. I mean, not only do we have the Hell to Pay animated movie to look forward to this spring, but cameras are expected to begin rolling later this year on Task Force X's next big screen outing.
After seeing the astonishing first trailer for Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay, we all knew that official details regarding the Blu-ray were imminent. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait very long at all, as our friends at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment have delivered the goods.
With shared universes being the norm these days - especially at The CW - one naturally expected for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina to overlap with Riverdale. After all, both series are based on Archie Comics properties and it seemed like Riverdale had been setting up Sabrina's arrival with the start of its second season. Heck, Greendale (the Teenage Witch's hometown) has been name-dropped on several occasions, with the Rosemary's Baby theme having been utilized during one of our trips there. For those unfamiliar, the classic film is quite comparable to the recent Sabrina horror comics.
In the opinion of this writer, it's about time that somebody put out a guide to the Halloween series that'll help general moviegoers make sense of it. Sure, you and I may know all the specifics, but the timeline is choppier than that of even the X-Men franchise.
If anything, 2018 looks to be a good year for those who appreciate DC's younger heroes. Not only do we have Teen Titans Go! To The Movies arriving in theaters this summer, but a live action Titans series and the third season of the animated darling Young Justice are set to launch later this year as part of WB's new DC-themed streaming service.
Even though Justice League didn't quite meet financial expectations, it's impossible to deny that it's a landmark movie. In other words, the first live action team-up involving the likes of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Flash and Cyborg is something that many of us had been waiting our entire lives for and, in the view of this writer, it made for one fun viewing experience.
