While it continues to be one of the more divisive films to feature the Caped Crusader since its release in 1995, the fact of the matter is that there are still many fans out there who love Batman Forever. Personally, I didn't hate it, but I'd much rather watch one of the movies directed by either Tim Burton or Christopher Nolan because, quite frankly, it was hard to take much of WB's third crack at the Bat seriously.
Even though it won’t be seeing a theatrical release, a strong argument could be made for Cult of Chucky being one of the most anticipated horror movies to drop in 2017. Not only will it include returning favorites such as Jennifer Tilly and Alex Vincent, but it will also carry over the darker tone that director Don Mancini established in the previous film, Curse of Chucky.
While we could debate all day about what changes may or may not have been made by Joss Whedon to the final cut of Justice League, that fact of the matter is that extensive reshoots did occur. Still, we may never know the entirety of what went down, or will at least have to wait a number of years before an ample amount of trivia is made public. After all, let's not forget about a little film called Superman II.
While the Marvel Cinematic Universe may have Nick Fury, one can't argue with DC TV's tasty connecting thread, that being Big Belly Burger. Ever since Arrow season 1, we've seen our favorite heroes kick up their heels while enjoying some delicious looking meals from the fictitious fast food joint. And despite the restaurant not existing in our universe, that hasn't stopped The CW from putting together one hilarious ad for it.
Despite being a lifelong fan of the X-Men, I must confess that I had some reservations heading into the series premiere of The Gifted. To put it mildly, I wondered if such an endeavor could be capably handled on a major network, especially considering that its roster was made up by mostly D-list characters. Thankfully, my worries were put to bed as Bryan Singer, Matt Nix and the rest of the crew proved that this franchise has so much depth that it makes failure difficult. Face it, Marvel: Your best and most interesting characters all belong to Fox.
Despite blowing us away with one event that’s already kicked off in the form of Dark Nights: Metal, DC is more than ready to knock our socks off with yet another limited series, the ominously titled Doomsday Clock. Set to put characters from the DC Universe proper on a collision course with those from Watchmen, it’ll no doubt finally pay off the greater mysteries of the Rebirth era that have been tugging at our minds.
Now is the time when we are in close enough proximation to fall premieres that networks begin releasing eye-popping posters for new and returning shows. To nobody's surprise, The CW is continuing its proud tradition of churning out memorable visual feasts spotlighting its various DC TV shows. Just last week, we got a fresh look at the Flash's new costume and, now, we have a couple more for Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow.
There's no doubt in my mind that there were many positive things to be said about season 5 of Arrow. But in an effort to not dwell on the past too much, I'll say that one of those elements vital to helping the series reattain its former glory was that of Prometheus, one of the deadliest, most calculating villains that Oliver Queen and his cohorts have faced to date.
As long as movies and media have been intertwined, spoilers have been a touchy subject for all to deal with. Some people can't go without them, others avoid them like a plague, and it's pretty much impossible for those in my field to work around them. But then we have merchandising companies who spill all sorts of beans ahead of a film's release, whether we want to know them or not. So, having said that, be forewarned that you're about to learn more about Justice League than you may have bargained for.
Think back to when you were in high school. Do you remember that whenever you would return from spring break or summer vacation there were always a fair amount of people rocking new hairstyles and whatnot? Or, if you’re a pro wrestler who wants their comeback to be more impactful after sitting on the sidelines for six months or more, you might upgrade your threads. Likewise, The Flash will seemingly employ that very same logic upon his liberation from the Speed Force.
