If you enjoyed the recent festivities surrounding the launch of Secret Empire and happen to have an affinity for a certain wallcrawler, well, then you're certainly going to want to pay attention. Perhaps due to the success of said promotion, Marvel has opted for an encore, this time devoted to Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man.
As time goes by, we're slowly but surely gaining more insight into DC's upcoming event book, Dark Nights: Metal, which is set to reunite the fan favorite creative team of writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo. The latest helping of knowledge comes by way of DC All Access, in which the most recent installment of the web series sees co-host Whitney Moore chatting with Snyder himself.
Last night on Arrow, Prometheus decided to continue his multifaceted assault on Oliver Queen, this time dragging his foe's father's name through the mud. But after capably weathering the storm, our hero was finally able to score a victory over Adrian Chase, with the big bad now being in ARGUS lockup.
While the bulk of our favorite DC TV shows were renewed some time ago, we've been on pins and needles waiting to learn the fate of the rest of the pack, namely Gotham and iZombie. So, aside from recently getting word that The CW has ordered Black Lightning to series, we're pleased to say that both shows will be coming back for another round.
Since acquiring the publication rights to Star Wars several years back, Marvel has without a doubt reinvigorated the timeless science fiction franchise in the comic book medium. I mean, Dark Horse's efforts were certainly nothing to sneeze at, but since coming over to the House of Ideas, the books have pretty much been a permanent fixture in Diamond's Top 10.
Now that the current season of Arrow is winding down, we'll have to witness the final few phases in Prometheus' sick game before getting to the star-studded finale. The first promo for "Honor Thy Fathers" that debuted last week week merely teased us with the big bad's baffling next move, but now we have a little more to go on thanks to a newly released featurette.
Although it was absent from airwaves for nearly a year, iZombie has handily succeeded at making viewers feel right at home by maintaining its unique blend of drama, horror, comedy and romance (check out our five-star review for the current season if you had any doubt), while generously adding new elements to the mix.
Now that it's well established Captain Cold is making his return on next week's episode of The Flash, The CW is not resting on its laurels and has instead decided to step up the marketing campaign for season 3's penultimate offering. Aside from an extended trailer, which can be viewed at the top, the network has continued its proud tradition of circulating eye-popping promo posters on social media.
After witnessing the conclusion to his now legendary run on Batman, many of us wondered if Scott Snyder had any gas left in the tank of his own Batmobile, but thankfully, he's had quite the generous reserve as he's consistently proven with All-Star Batman. Whether it be the barn-burner that was the opening arc with Two-Face or the one that followed featuring a variety of villains - the chapter focusing on Mr. Freeze was the series' crowning achievement, in my opinion - we the readers have certainly been spoiled.
Now that The Flash is closing in on the finish line that is the season 3 finale, the producers are pulling out all the stops to make sure that the current run goes out with a bang. As promised in a previously released featurette, Savitar shared his motivation with his present self, finally giving us some real insight into the breadth of his diabolical plan. But as exciting as that was, we can't help but be left reeling by the fact that Captain Cold is returning next week.
