Right now, I think we can all agree there's a lot riding on Wonder Woman. Not only is it the Amazon Princess' first headlining gig in a live action film, but many are also looking to it to be the great redeemer for a DC Extended Universe that has thus far proven to be divisive. And if the latest trailer is any indicator, it may very well be.
Whenever celebrities engage in social media livestreams, they can go in a variety of directions. There are some who hold their cards very close to their vest like Arrow's Stephen Amell and won't discuss major spoilers until after a given episode has aired, or, there are those who know how to tease us with just the right amount of information. Fortunately, Madelaine Petsch, who plays Cheryl Blossom on Riverdale, is proving to be the latter. Well, she doesn't flat out spoil key plot points, but what she does do is let us know when we should be paying closer attention.
Not long ago, we reported on Christopher Priest taking Deathstroke in a bold new direction beginning in July. Seeing as how Slade Wilson’s solo series has had a mature, HBO-style dramatic tone to it, it had us wondering if it’d be lightened up or we’d get a more popcorn, action-heavy book.
From what we can tell, Wonder Woman has a big summer ahead of her. Not only does her first headlining gig in a movie arrive in cinemas on June 2, but DC has decided to make the very next day all about her, complete with free comics to give out. But aside from all that awesomeness, you can expect some big shakeups in her ongoing series in the next few months.
As we rapidly approach the final leg of the third season of The Flash, The CW has elected to throw us a bone in order to help the next two weeks pass. And while it's not a new trailer or a full clip gleaned from the returning episode, you have to admit it's pretty cool nonetheless.
Should you ever need proof as to why Action Comics is currently one of DC's best titles, you pretty much need only pick up any issue penned by Dan Jurgens, who's undoubtedly one of the greatest writers to touch the Man of Steel within the past thirty years. And, not surprisingly, the latest offering continues that trend.
Undoubtedly, one of the most intriguing aspects of Gotham's upcoming spring premiere is that of seeing Edward Nygma taking a major stride toward his destiny of becoming the Riddler. Although we've gotten hints of this in the past with a brief promo, the official synopsis for the appropriately titled "How The Riddler Got His Name" has surfaced, thereby somewhat satisfying our hunger while we countdown to the show's return.
Without a doubt, Supergirl has certainly stepped up its game in its second season. Don’t get me wrong, season 1 was certainly no slouch, but you have to admit that since its move to The CW, it’s been able to breathe more freely and has achieved new heights.
Although pitting gargantuan monsters against each other on film is nothing new, you have to tip your hat to The Avengers for the positive effect it had on modern American cinema. It seems like everyone is now getting in on the shared universe concept and, if you love Kaiju, it's certainly an exciting time to be alive. With Kong: Skull Island now behind us, our attention turns toward 2019’s Godzilla sequel (fingers crossed for a Jet Jaguar appearance) and 2020’s Godzilla vs. Kong, which we’re guessing will be bereft of “Martha.”
Over the weekend, many of us Batfans were taken aback by several rumors that surfaced online, the most pleasing of which was arguably the one that stated four Batman family movies will be arriving in cinemas in 2019 - specifically, Gotham City Sirens, Nightwing, Batgirl and, finally, The Batman - with two animated offerings also on tap. Do keep in mind that we did say to take the news with a grain of salt, because reality is about to set in.
