Now that The Batman has entered pre-production, it shouldn’t be much longer before we learn which other actors will orbit Robert Pattinson as the titular hero. So far, we’ve heard rumblings of Penguin, Riddler, Two-Face, Mad Hatter and Firefly joining the party, but it’s actually Catwoman whom we’re here to discuss today.
Given how Oliver Queen has donned a variety of costumes over the course of Arrow's illustrious history, I've been waiting for him to upgrade his threads yet again. Though his attire worn during the first three seasons was essentially the same, there were minor differences each year. Of course, you don't need me to remind you of how he traded up at the start of season 4. And when it comes to seasons 5-7, the suit was highly similar, yet the sleeves were long.
Even though Man of Steel is often viewed as being the launching point for the DC Extended Universe as we know it - or knew it - let's not forget how 2011's Green Lantern flick was originally intended to serve as the kickoff. But when that failed to resonate with critics and general moviegoers, Warner Bros. fell back on Superman.
Is it just me, or are the majority of Robert Pattinson's detractors failing to realized he's not playing Edward Cullen as The Batman in Matt Reeves' upcoming blockbuster? Sure, it's perfectly okay to have your own opinion regarding specific actors and their abilities, but it's another thing to not realize Pattinson's been in films other than Twilight. Those who've been around long enough remember how Michael Keaton, Christian Bale and Heath Ledger endured similar criticism upon being cast in their respective roles - and look how they turned out.
In the eyes of this lifelong Batman fan, Gotham will forever remain a wonderful part of the character's enduring mythos. I'm aware of how a percentage of you scoff at how it retold the Dark Knight's beginnings - and those of his villains, for that matter - but it's important that creators keep things fresh. After all, our hero couldn't have gotten this far if everybody rehashed the same tales over and over again.
Within the next few months, it’s only inevitable that we be treated to more footage promoting the highly anticipated Batwoman TV series. Having already been gifted with a sizable and badass trailer back in May, it’s probably fair to assume our next significant helping will arrive at San Diego Comic-Con in a couple weeks.
Having already received a variety of trailers and clips pertaining to Scream: Resurrection, one could say we've been due for a photo gallery. I mean, promotional stills were bound to surface at some point, but it's not crazy to think diehard fans of the enduring slasher franchise were starting to get antsy.
If I had to single out the most popular comic book-based franchise that doesn't feature a superhero these days, I'd have to go with The Walking Dead. Since debuting on AMC nearly a decade ago, the horror series has managed to captivate audiences in an entertainment landscape already oversaturated with zombies. In fact, it's now heading into its tenth season, and has even spawned a spinoff in the form of Fear The Walking Dead.
For fans of the popular slasher franchise, being blindsided by so much Scream: Resurrection footage in the past few weeks has probably come as a welcome surprise. Yes, it's a re-reboot in essence because season 3 completely abandons the storyline established by the MTV series, but it's shaping up pretty well from where I'm sitting.
Right now, I can't tell you how conflicted I am when it comes to Zack Snyder continuously releasing all of these Justice League goodies nearly two years after the team-up flick had its run in theaters. Being a DC fan and trivia buff, I'm digging the treats in a sense, but it's becoming increasingly difficult not seeing him as the guy whose Facebook profile photo still shows him with a girl who dumped him two months ago. In other words, he and the folks who post "#ReleaseTheSnyderCut" a million times a day on Twitter have a hard time moving on.
