Now that Arrow has (nearly) seven seasons under its belt, I think it's fair to say the character of Oliver Queen sure has gone through a lot of hell. But in the process, he's made great friends, found love, and has even begun building a family of his own. Perhaps it's these simple rewards that have prevented him from becoming the evil he fights.
Now that spring has sprung, our favorite TV shows will roll out their season finales before you know it. In the case of The CW's prime time dramas, most of them have about a handful of episodes to go before the summer hiatus. So, too, does Arrow, as five more adventures are yet to be added to season 7's tally.
For the longest time, I'd naturally pictured what it'd be like to see Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield and the creatures they fought in Resident Evil 2 rendered in more realistic graphics if and when a full-blown remake ever saw the light of day. Thankfully, the relevant segment making up 2009's Darkside Chronicles showed me just that when it dropped for the Nintendo Wii. Still, that wasn't quite the remake we'd all wished for because it was an on-rails shooter which covered more ground than just the Raccoon City incident.
Even though I went into Legends of Tomorrow's midseason premiere with some skepticism because it was set to focus heavily on the romance involving Mona and her wolf-like boyfriend, I found myself walking away from it impressed. If anything, last night's episode served up the right balance of humor and adventurism that's made the show all the more enjoyable since its third season.
I think it goes without saying that "The Road So Far" had to arrive at an end destination at some point, but that doesn't make the reality of Supernatural concluding following its fifteenth season any easier to accept. Even if you haven't been watching since the pilot episode aired just as I have, you may agree that this show's simply become ingrained in your life over the years. For me, it's almost like a phantom limb because tuning in each week is just part of my routine.
Despite Arrow soon ending its impressive run and the various series orbiting it not getting any younger, the future of DC on The CW still looks incredibly bright. The reason I say that is because we have Batwoman waiting in the wings, a show set to be headlined by Ruby Rose as she plays the titular character tasked with protecting Gotham City following the disappearance of Batman.
Love them or hate them, Paul W.S. Anderson's Resident Evil movies exist. Though I admittedly dug the first and fourth installments, as a fan of the games, I didn't care for the live action film franchise by and large. The CGI flicks produced by Capcom, however, are the cat's pajamas in my book.
Though it got off to a rocky start, one could certainly say that the DC Extended Universe is getting back on track. Sure, Justice League may have massively underperformed at the box office (yet was quite entertaining) after Wonder Woman proved to be a massive success by her lonesome, but then Aquaman made a billion dollars and Shazam! is already garnering much praise. Hopefully future offerings like Joker and Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) can keep the ball rolling.
If learning that the series will end following its eighth season weren't enough, Arrow fans also had reason to get misty-eyed this past weekend when reading that Emily Bett Rickards will make her exit well before then. But if "Olicity" shippers are to make off with any sort of consolation prize, it's that they finally got their baby.
