Though I'm much more easily able to accept Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer AKA the Atom on Legends of Tomorrow after seeing him in a ton of episodes, I admit that it was somewhat hard to get used to the idea of him playing the character when he first showed up during Arrow's third season. Don't forget, Routh suited up as the Man of Steel himself in 2006's Superman Returns.
From the very beginning, those familiar with comic book lore knew that Caitlin Snow would become Killer Frost at some point on The Flash, with the big moment arriving in season 3. Well, actually, we did meet Earth-2's version during season 2, but that's a different story altogether.
If you tuned in for tonight's episode of The Flash, then you certainly got all you could've asked for and more. In addition to Caitlin Snow's father showing up and establishing himself as the Arrowverse's version of the Icicle just as we suspected he would, we also learned of her true origins as Killer Frost. And if that weren't enough, daddy also dropped the names of two other major "cold villains" from the DC Universe, those being Louise Lincoln (another Killer Frost from the comics) and Victor Fries!
Each year, it seems like Arrowverse crossovers get bigger, better and more ambitious. After witnessing "Invasion!" and "Crisis on Earth-X," I wasn't sure what the producers could do next, but they decided to go with something that was right in front of our faces by putting their own stamp on the "Elseworlds" concept.
Awesome and definitive as Mark Hamill's performances as the Joker have been, the trivia lover in me can't help wondering what happened in an alternate universe where Tim Curry stayed on as the Clown Prince of Crime in Batman: The Animated Series. If you remember, the legendary actor had been originally cast as the Dark Knight's greatest foe when the show was first getting off the ground - before being fired, that is.
Despite Oliver Queen's stay at Slabside laying claim to some memorable moments, I'm more than ready to put this brief era of Arrow behind me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I yearn for something formulaic, but I want to see him wearing a green costume and kicking butt on the streets of Star City whenever I tune in. This is a superhero show, first and foremost.
For a moment, I thought tonight's episode of Arrow marked a change in status quo. After all, Felicity Smoak and friends finally succeeded in apprehending Ricardo Diaz and placing him behind bars. Then again, it was only the sixth episode of the season, and we still have one long road ahead of us.
As much as I love the Man of Steel, I wasn’t quite prepared for the collective hype put forth by the fanbase when it came to recent news pertaining to Superman: The Movie. After all, I imagine you and I have each seen the flick on numerous occasions, but there’s admittedly something quite special about viewing classics in a room filled with like-minded individuals.
With the next major Arrowverse crossover, “Elseworlds,” being just under three weeks away from airing, we’re now seeing the hype machine slowly kicking into high gear. Last week alone, we’d been treated to new photos and even some brief teaser promos.
