When Batman: The Animated Series was confirmed to be released on Blu-ray as a complete package, I was not only thrilled to learn that as a longtime fan, but also eager to review it as a critic. As you may know, this was a show that changed the game when it came to superhero cartoons because there'd simply been nothing like it beforehand. Seriously, it boasted rich, dramatic storytelling that was mature enough for adults to enjoy, yet still accessible for kids - plus it featured actors whom you normally wouldn't think of as participating in such a production.
After delivering on the first live action appearance of Jason Todd and thereby bringing a boatload of Batman references along with him in this week's stellar episode, Titans shows no signs of slowing down with its next installment.
With the next major Arrowverse crossover, "Elseworlds," being just under a month away from airing, we're now seeing the hype machine slowly kicking into high gear. During this week alone, we've already been treated to new photos and even some brief teaser promos.
Right now, it's getting hard to decide what's the most appealing thing about the upcoming Arrowverse crossover, "Elseworlds." For some, it may be seeing Ruby Rose suiting up as the first live action iteration of Batwoman, though others might dig Grant Gustin and Stephen Amell trading places as the Flash and Green Arrow.
This season on Arrow, viewers have thus far had two major questions on their minds: when will Oliver Queen get out of prison and just who is the new Emerald Archer running around Star City? Actually, it looks like the former will occur soon enough during "The Slabside Redemption," but we now have a pretty solid lead on the latter.
Even though we've been gifted with numerous photos and even a few brief promos in recent memory, we've all had to piece together the plot of the next major Arrowverse crossover, "Elseworlds," based on whatever we've had to go on. Fortunately, however, that changes today as a description for said event has finally been disclosed.
Even though it's not an absolute requirement for Batman to appear on Titans, it's something I think many DC fans would like to see happen in some capacity. Similar to how The CW's Supergirl eventually introduced its own iteration of Superman, it's understandable for people to be curious about what this universe's take on Batman looks like.
In my view, Arrow‘s seventh season aired its best and most exciting episode yet this past Monday. I mean, not only was it intriguing and delivered some cool fight scenes, but it also revealed the mysterious “Demon” to be Talia al Ghul in very short order.
At this point, it'll probably take us the remainder of the day to list off all of the cool stuff which the next major Arrowverse crossover, "Elseworlds," has going for it. But if there's one thing that's had our attention from the get-go, it's most assuredly the debut of Ruby Rose as the first live action iteration of Batwoman.
