If we’ve learned anything from Supernatural, it’s that a character’s death is by no means a guarantee that they’ll never return. Really, Bobby bought it in season 7 and still went on to be a recurring presence. Heck, how many times have Sam and Dean Winchester themselves died? And now that the concept of alternate universes has been wholeheartedly embraced, the possibilities are endless.
Whenever anyone assembles articles or videos featuring lists that fire off "DC movies that didn't make it to the finish line" these days, it'd be in their best interest to include Justice League Dark. It may be a niche title, sure, but who would've figured Guardians of the Galaxy to be such a hit for Marvel if you told them before the "A-holes" had a film of their own?
I don't know about you, but I seriously need to start asking Arrowverse fans whom I meet at conventions if indeed Beebo is the phenomenon producers believe him to be. Then again, vocal minorities on social media can be credited with things such as Felicity Smoak being virtually as bulletproof as Superman, so this hypothetical survey could go either way.
Though Supergirl tells the story of Kara Zor-El first and foremost, it’s pretty much impossible to avoid certain hallmarks of the DC Universe due to her being the cousin of Superman. As such, Tyler Hoechlin has already shown up as Big Blue on several occasions – and will return this fall for the “Elseworlds” crossover – not to mention other vital characters such as James Olsen and Cat Grant putting in appearances.
To be completely honest, Supergirl's third season bored me more often than not. Thankfully, the producers have managed to turn it around this year, for I could imagine season 4 going down as being the series' best when it wraps next spring.
In the midst of all the hoopla surrounding Disney's acquisition of Fox, one could say the biggest talking point in the geek community concerning this has to be the eventuality of when the X-Men will be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of course, we can't nail down a date of when this'll happen, but it's sure to occur at some point.
Even though I gave Legends of Tomorrow's fourth season premiere a glowing review not long ago, I can't help noticing how the show is at risk of spiraling out of control when it comes to pushing the silliness envelop. Really, after seeing cheaply costumed monsters chowing down at the Time Bureau last week, it became all the more difficult to accept that this series takes place in the same universe as Arrow.
Given how Dick Grayson's character arc is currently unfolding on the live action Titans series, I'd be very much surprised if he didn't transition to the Nightwing persona before season 1 concludes. Awesome as that would be, it's actually his successor, Jason Todd, whom we'll talk about today.
Now that Thanksgiving has passed, odds are you've probably had your fill of turkey and all of the usual side dishes - but not of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
When you have great actors such as Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger preceding you, it certainly makes taking on an iconic role like the Joker doubly intimidating. But in the case of Joaquin Phoenix, it seems as though the guy is more than up to the challenge and will likely turn in a memorable performance.
