Following on from the success of cop thriller End Of Watch, Jake Gyllenhaal straps on another uniform for Denis Villeneuve's Prisoners. Villeneuve, who got Hollywood's attention with this Ocsar-nominated Incendies in 2010, obviously made quite an impression on Gyllenhaal. The actor has shot two films back-to-back with the French-Canadian director, An Enemy, and Prisoners. The latter of which finally has a trailer!
Robert Rodriguez's busy slate will soon have one less production on it, as Machete Kills prepares to hit cinemas. Over the last week blurry copies of the trailer have been leaked online several times before being taken down. The sequel to Machete has now been granted an official preview, and you can get a look at it in this first trailer.
Inspiration for the next big hit can come from anywhere. Pirates Of The Caribbean was a major ride at four of Walt Disney's themes park before its transformation into a summer blockbuster. Heck, we've even had filmmakers turning to board games as was the case with disaster flick, Battleship. Well, hold onto your butts, because now that internet meme goddess, Grumpy Cat, is the next in line for the big screen treatment.
Do we really need a third Human Centipede film? Thinking along those lines, did we even need the first one? Regardless of how deplorable the subject matter is for this franchise, someone somewhere must enjoy them. One of those people is probably Eric Roberts, who has just signed on to star in The Human Centipede III: Final Sequence.
Last Days On Mars is a film you wouldn't expect to wow crowds at Cannes. It's a sci-fi horror mash up set in space. Doesn't sound like the sort of flick that'd win over critics at the year's most influential event in cinema, right? Well, now you can get a glimpse of the film that's causing such a stir, as the first clip is available online.
The first Percy Jackson film adaptation, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief was pretty much a poor man's Potter. Without the avid readership pummelling the film into the annals of literary and cinematic history. It clung to the framework of Harry Potter as if its every success was reliant on it. The sequel arrives in cinemas this summer and to prepare us for Percy, Fox have dropped a new full length trailer for Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters.
From Josh Boone; the chap who's recently signed on to adapt the hugely popular The Fault In Our Stars comes Stuck In Love. His debut flick dallies with similar subjects: teen love; adult love; err...alright, it's a film about love. He's obviously got a lot to say about the troublesome mistress that is romance. If you're intrigued by a film which isn't going to sugar coat it, then check out the trailer below.
This Is The End is one of many films on this year's cinematic calendar spun from a similar topic. The apocalypse. For whatever reason, screenwriters have all drawn inspiration for their scribblings from the Earth's demise. What marks This Is The End as different from the rest is that it's a comedy. A meta-textual comedy at that.
World War Z. Need anymore be said? Everyone knows of the troubled production, the redacted statements, the reshoots, the rewrites, the...sorry, started to nod off there. With a whole twelve months of reporting focusing on the struggles the film has endured it's a little tiring hearing it rehashed. So, no more talk of that. Instead, let's get pretty dang excited for the upcoming zombocalypse (that's copyrighted, by the way) flick! This week a brand new set of banners have arrived.
Bryan Singer, an easy shoo-in for the title of most Tweet-happy director, has taken to Twitter again. He's revealed a new snap from the set of X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Once again Singer puts Fox's marketing folks to shame. Since the start of production he has posted first looks at most of the main players in the film. With the majority of the cast reprising their roles these sneak peeks have revealed few spoilers.
