Robert Rodriguez’s busy slate will soon have one less production on it, as Machete Kills prepares to hit cinemas. Over the last week blurry copies of the trailer have been leaked online several times before being taken down. The sequel to Machete has now been granted an official preview, and you can get a look at it in this first trailer.

The first flick had a barrage of a cast, all too eager to appear in Rodriguez’s take on kitschy throwback. The story of a Federale on a mission to right his wrongs laid a foundation for explosions, chases and scantily-clad women. The sequel looks set to retread those familiar steps. Hey, if it ain’t broke…

This time around Danny Trejo will be sharing the screen with yet another stream of gorgeous women. Sofia Vergara (complete with a gun-totin’ bra), Amber Heard, Jessica Alba, Zoe Saldana, Alexis Vega, Lady Gaga and Michelle Rodriguez join the film as undisputed eye candy. All make brief appearances in this preview, which features an introduction by Rodriguez and Trejo in Spanish.

Rodriguez’s soft spot for rich buffoons has led to some interesting additions. Mel Gibson features as the film’s main villain and Charlie Sheen is in it…as the President. All is not lost though as Antonio Banderas, William Sadler, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Demian Bichir round out the cast. Good to know that not all of the blokes in it are misogynists.

In MACHETE KILLS, Danny Trejo returns as ex-Federale agent MACHETE, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

Machete Kills charges into cinemas on September 13, 2013.
