It's a mixed bag of renewal/cancellation news today for ABC Family fans. The network recently announced, ahead of Switched at Birth's August 18th season finale, that it will be picking up the popular drama (pictured above) for a fourth season. However, it was simultaneously revealed that freshman mystery drama Twisted, which didn't find success anywhere near the levels of Switched at Birth or the network's flagship show Pretty Little Liars, has gotten the axe.
HBO has delivered some terrific comedies over the years, from the quirky musical series Flight of the Conchords to biting political satire Veep, and with the cast that the premium cable network is pulling together for its upcoming comedy The Brink, there's reason to believe HBO has another major hit on its hands.
Earlier this month, we brought you word that Texas Chainsaw's next installment might not be a direct sequel to 2013's Texas Chainsaw 3D. Instead, Millenium Films was said to be mulling over a prequel centering on a teenage Leatherface. At the time, a writer was said to be in talks to pen a script for the project. Now, for better or worse, it's been confirmed that the prequel, simply titled Leatherface, is up next for the franchise and will feature a script from Seth M. Sherwood.

In an interesting turn of events, it's been revealed that the male lead for the upcoming Sinister 2, on which Ciaran Foy (Citadel) is taking the reins from first film director Scott Derrickson, is none other than James Ransone, who had a supporting role in Sinister. It had previously been thought that his concerned sheriff's deputy would be returning for a small role, but now it's been confirmed that the character will be leading the pic.
