I'm an avid watcher of films and I just love discussing and sharing them with the world. I enjoy horror, sci-fi and mostly any genre under the sun, plus I have a slight obsession with Blu-ray's and the whole high definition craze.
If there's one TV show that needs to be seen by fans of really great comedy then it would be Louis C.K.'s Louie. The show is constantly funny and never feels repetitive or flat. I've only seen the majority of season 1, but based on the episodes I have seen I know that I'll enjoy season 2 without a doubt.
James Cameron's Titanic is coming to 2D & 3D Blu-Ray later this year. Amazon has listed pre-orders for both 2D and 3D combo pack versions of James Cameron's romantic blockbuster and although a street date isn't confirmed, most sources are saying September 14th, 2012 is when the film will anchor.
Neveldine/Taylor's Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance will be coming to 2D and 3D Blu-Ray on June 12th, 2012. Out of all of the random comic-book offspring films to warrant a sequel most thought the Nicolas Cage starring Ghost Rider wasn't worthy of another attempt. Despite some ripe material for a dark adaptation, the character of Ghost Rider was a tricky one due to the supernatural origins of the character. In 2007 director Mark Steven Johnson tried making a big-budget summer blockbuster out of the character and the resulting film was just flat out stupid.
Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July is coming to Blu-Ray in July. I've actually never seen the film, but I plan on checking it out when it hits stores. Oliver Stone tends to make hit or miss films, which means I'll have to approach it with caution. I'm also not the biggest Tom Cruise fan prior to the late 90's and 2000's, but that hasn't stopped me from enjoying a lot of his films.
Best Buy will have exclusive rights to the Road Trip Blu-Ray on May 15th, 2012. Todd Phillips' comedy Road Trip, starring Tom Green and Seann William Scott isn't anything to write home about, but it's a good comedy for its day and age. I don't really remember anything specific about it, but I do remember liking it, which makes the Blu-Ray announcement somewhat pleasing.
The Darkest Hour is nearly two darkest hours of modern sci-fi cinema. It's complete garbage, full of poorly rendered CGI with a lousy and pointless 3D conversion. Emile Hirsch should be ashamed to associate himself with such steamy shit.
Daniel Espinosa's Safe House, starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds, will hit Blu-Ray on June 5th, 2012. Espinosa transitioned into American cinemas with Safe House; an action/thriller that wasn't all that inventive. If anything it borrowed heavily from Paul Greengrass' style, which is something not one director has been successfully able to recreate. There's just something about Greengrass' camerawork that doesn't simply feel like another shaky cam excuse.
Steven Spielberg's cult-classic Jaws is confirmed for Blu-Ray on August 14th, 2012. One title that many have been patiently waiting to hit Blu-Ray is Steven Spielberg's classic Jaws, the film that invented the big-budget Hollywood blockbuster. The film that also made me terrified to go swimming in the ocean will finally be available to own on the high-def format!
The latest Amanda Seyfried thriller Gone is coming to Blu-Ray on May 29th, 2012. If you're looking for one of the worst films of the year and possibly of the last 5 years, then you'll want to pick up Gone when it hits Blu-Ray this May. Not only is the film predictable and poorly acted, but it's also too long and lacks any real structure.
