I'm an avid watcher of films and I just love discussing and sharing them with the world. I enjoy horror, sci-fi and mostly any genre under the sun, plus I have a slight obsession with Blu-ray's and the whole high definition craze.
Carnage is pitch-perfect comedy directed by the very skilled Roman Polanski and starS 4 amazingly talented actors: Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz, Jodie Foster and John C. Reilly.
Oren Moverman's cop drama Rampart, starring Woody Harrelson, will be available to own on Blu-Ray on May 15th, 2012. There were a few performances that somehow got overlooked at this past Oscar event and one of them was Woody Harrelson's work in Rampart. He played one of the most corrupt and self-destructive cops on screen since Training Day.
American Pie isn't the worst thing to come out of the 90's, but it isn't worthy of sequels and it's more or less a forgettable comedy that doesn't hold up well against time.
Warner Bros. has announced 16 "thriller" titles for Blu-Ray this July. 16 titles from the thriller genre will be available to own in July courtesy of Warner Brothers Home Entertainment. Every single title will be new to the high def format. I personally can't wait to pick up The Butterfly Effect, as it is a personal favorite of mine, but I see more than a few titles worth picking up if the price is right.
Katherine Heigl was kind of a bankable actress at one point in time. She was coming hot off of Knocked Up and decided to plant herself firmly in the romantic comedy genre, but then something happened. People stopped showing up for her films because they sucked beyond belief. One thing is to make a generic, by-the-books film that is solely meant for a specific audience, but it becomes another thing when you start pumping out 2 or 3 a year with Heigl playing the exact same role every single time.
Alexander Payne's The Descendants is a perfect family drama that isn't afraid to shed humor onto troubling situations. George Clooney and Shailene Woodley give Oscar worthy performances and the film is one of 2011's best.
