First Clip From The Thing Prequel
It's no surprise that Hollywood is taking a stab at the John Carpenter classic The Thing, but what really pisses me off is how it's clearly stating that it's a prequel, yet the first trailer looks like a complete reenactment of the original film and the title is the exact same as the original film. If you don't have the balls to remake a horror classic than leave it alone. If you want to try and remake it (and probably fail) then be my guest and at least admit that you're remaking it.

First Clip From Machine Gun Preacher
It looks like Gerard Butler will be taking a turn for the more serious this Fall when he stars in director Marc Forster's latest film, Machine Gun Preacher. The trailer went online back in August and the film has been slowly starting to gain some serious buzz, possibly even Oscar buzz for Mr. Butler himself. Lately Butler has been starring in mindless action films, but it appears that he's looking to impress in Machine Gun Preacher. He plays Sam Childers, a former drug dealer who finds his heart and becomes a preacher and savior of orphaned children who are forced into war.

Trailer For Mexican Thriller Miss Bala
Wow, is all I can really say after watching the trailer for director Gerardo Naranjo's Mexican thriller titled Miss Bala. The film follows a beauty queen (Stephanie Sigman) as she gets unwillingly tossed into the underground world of drug trafficking. The film was just picked up by Fox International, which is why The Film Stage has provided us with this brand new trailer that lets us take see the night and day difference between beauty pageants and drug smuggling!

Trailer Of The Week: Babylon A.D.
Back in the summer of 2008 came a little studio sci-fi film called Babylon A.D. Most people weren’t tracking it because of several delays and no promotion by its own director Mathieu Kassovitz, because Kassovitz and Fox Studios couldn’t agree on a damn thing. In an interview after Babylon A.D.‘s release, director Kassovitz said that the film was like a bad episode of the hit show 24 and that Fox wouldn’t let him shoot one scene the way he or the script wanted, this resulted in him disowning the project and Fox not really caring about it, which is a shame because on paper the film looked like it could work.

Mark Wahlberg To Possibly Replace Bradley Cooper In The Crow
Back in April we reported about Bradley Cooper possibly taking on the lead role in Relativity Media's The Crow remake, with director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) at the helm. However, recently we posted that Cooper is planning to re-team with Limitless co-star, Robert De Niro, for the upcoming David O. Russell film, The Silver Linings Playbook. This would make his schedule a little tight, thus causing him to drop out of The Crow. First Showing is reporting that with Cooper out, Mark Wahlberg might be in.

Preview Of Michael Shannon In The Iceman
Preview footage has surfaced online for The Iceman, a film that hasn't even gone into production yet. The footage includes actors Michael Shannon and Michael Wincott. Shannon plays Richard "The Iceman" Leonard, a famous mobster from the NYC/NJ area. The preview footage is very brooding and creepy thanks to the unsettling music and the cold performance by Shannon.
