One of the more surprising revelations from Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo was the news that Nova is actually in the final battle scene with Thanos. The Easter Egg came out of a Twitter Q&A that raised the question of why the Nova Corps weren't represented in the fight, only for the Russos to point out that Richard Rider himself appears as Nova in the background of a shot.
With Ewan McGregor's role in an Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney Plus all but confirmed, there's been a lot of speculation about what the show will cover. Most predictions are in agreement that it'll take place between the Star Wars prequels and the Original Trilogy, filling in the gaps on what Obi-Wan was doing on Tatooine. To this end, there's been rumors about everything from Darth Maul to Darth Vader, and even a young Luke Skywalker making appearances in the series and one new take on the Obi-Wan show is that it'll borrow from a popular Marvel comic book run.
We're hearing reports that Superman may make an appearance in the second season of DC Universe's Titans. According to Cosmic Book News, the Man of Steel could feature in a similar way to Batman in season 1, appearing as a background figure. This move ties into the role of Superboy in the series, who's partly cloned from Kal-El's DNA. Joshua Orpin will play the younger clone, with no further news currently available on who might step into the role of Superman, if and when this does actually happen.
We've been hearing a lot from Friday the 13th actor Kane Hodder recently, from encouraging fans not to lose hope in there being new entries in the franchise, to his ideas for a new film. Referring to a protracted legal dispute over the rights to the series, Hodder said he's still keen to take on his iconic role as Jason Voorhees if and when a new movie is produced and he's now revealed why he thinks his performances were so unique.
It's not long until we finally get to see what American Horror Story: 1984 has in store for us, with the series offering its take on slasher movies and summer camps. Recent promos have showcased returning and new cast members for the ninth season of the FX show, while there's also been new footage that features some familiar slasher beats. Now, however, Ryan Murphy and the team behind American Horror Story have given us another 1980s-themed treat in the form of a poster that pays tribute to 1980s video box art.
Achieving gender equality in television is still a long way off, but The Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd has at least achieved her aim of making the AMC show "gender equal." More specifically, seasons 9 and 10 of the series were able to meet the requirements of ReFrame, an initiative between the Sundance Institute and Women in Film Los Angeles to hire more female talent behind the camera.
Wil Wheaton, who appeared as Wesley Crusher in Star Trek: The Next Generation, payed homage this week to the show by suiting up as Commander Riker for a 1980s-themed costume party. Wheaton went with the choice of Will Riker from the third season of the classic sci-fi series, and certainly looks the part, even down to the beard. The reason behind the costume was Wheaton's wife's 50th birthday party, but it also gives us a nice idea of how the actor might look if he joined the cast of Star Trek: Picard.
Following the success of the recent Batman: Hush animated movie, director Justin Copeland is keen to take a turn into a live-action Dark Knight film. Speaking to Popcorn Talk Network's DC Movie News, Copeland was asked which Batman story he'd most want to direct next, and chose the "No Man's Land" arc. Furthermore, Copeland wants to work with Robert Pattinson, who will be making his debut as Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves' The Batman.
Looking surprisingly cosy despite their gruesome fates in the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies, the leading ladies of the franchise posed with Robert Englund for a group shot at the recent Flashback Weekend. The image features Heather Langenkamp, Amanda Wyss, Lisa Wilcox, Tuesday Knight, Brooke Theiss, Toy Newkirk, and Lisa Zane, with Wyss sharing the photo on Facebook. Wyss also posted a bonus image of herself and Englund, and you can see both images below.
Actress Minka Kelly has given us a better idea of how her character Dove will look in the second season of Titans. Part of a crime-fighting duo with Hawk, Kelly's Dove, aka Dawn Granger, was put through the ringer in the first season of the show, and is expected to play a prominent part in new episodes of the DC Universe series. Kelly posted a photo to Instagram of herself as Granger in casual clothes, rather than her vigilante costume, and also mentioned that cinematographer Boris Mojsovski will be directing an episode of the series.
