Though many have pointed to a decline in the quality and broad popularity of The Walking Dead, there's no denying that the property is still one of the most successful in the industry. Sister series Fear the Walking Dead just concluded its fifth season, and there's a second, untitled, spinoff in the works that'll purportedly follow children of the generation that've been raised in the zombie apocalypse.
Stranger Things has been an unrequited success story for Netflix. The show has captivated audiences since it first premiered in 2016 and the third season, released earlier this year, broke multiple records for the streamer and became one of the most watched programs on the platform.
When Star Trek: Discovery ended its second season earlier this year, it left a lot of lingering questions. While cliffhangers are in no shortage for genre TV in general, Discovery left on a pretty big one by leaping forward in time to a period that hasn’t been explored in Star Trek canon before. As such, no one is quite sure what is in store for Sonequa Martin-Green’s Michael Burnham and her crew. In particular, audiences have been speculating about the fate of the Federation that provides much of the foundation for the franchise.
Training Day is one of the gems of early 2000’s cinema. The DC Universe streaming series Titans has just returned for its second round and so far, things are going pretty well. The first season had its share of bumps along the way and it took awhile for the show to really find its footing, as one of the biggest issues with the production was the changes to the characters. Especially during the initial episodes, things just seemed a little off. One of the major sticking points was Dick Grayson playing an older and disillusioned version of Robin, instead of transforming into Nightwing.
Spidey fans can rejoice today as Disney and Sony have, after seemingly endless negotiations, agreed to make a third Spider-Man film that is set in the MCU. The movie will complete the arc for the wall crawler that began with 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and continued through this past summer’s blockbuster hit, Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Avengers: Endgame has been nearly universally praised since its release this past April. It successfully capped of the 23-film Infinity Saga as well as providing cathartic ends for most of the main cast. There are, however, a few exceptions to this. One of the most notable is the treatment of the Incredible Hulk. The Green Goliath’s transformation into his “Professor Hulk” persona left many scratching their head. It didn’t seem to fit with the overall arc angriest Avenger had been traveling. But, the creative team behind the decision stand behind it, and are even doubling down on how integral Bruce Banner and his alter ego were to the proceedings in Endgame.
