Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, It’s Official

So after a huge amount of nervous fidgeting and awkward conversation about how much ‘some people’ *cough* love Uncharted’s hero, Drake, and emerging slightly bruised from the fuss around the not-so-leaky FAN concept art, PS3 owners can get ready for the next game changer. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception has been confirmed as the official title for the next instalment, and it has also been acknowledged that this one will indeed be set amidst an expansive and dusty desert.

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood: The Multiplayer Verdict

Just in case a few of you aren’t aware of the basic set up online, I’ll quickly outline for you. The game types all stem from the core mode “Wanted”, which is basically your AC equivalent of a free for all. At the start of each match, players are allocated one target from the group of players, and they must hunt down and kill their target. But the twist is this: you are the target of someone else and hence are always being pursued in this circle of hit man contracts. Depending on how well you are doing, you can have anything from 1-4 players looking for you or competing with you to kill your target.

Call Of Duty Black Ops: Hidden Briefing Code Cracked

We use the word ‘cracked’ very loosely. What happened was that this, a Black Ops player uncovered a message hidden in the story modes mission briefings. I’ll spare you the painful and admittedly amusing details...mainly because the guy who found them won’t. He claims to be the first one to have found the hidden message (contains spoiler so beware), and while we can’t confirm this bold and attention seeking statement, we haven’t heard of this until now. So flip on your conspiracy sun hat, go hide in the shed, and mull it over.

Playstation Phone Getting Leaked Again

Guess what? More footage of the ‘phone that doesn’t officially exist’ has popped up on the net, and this time it’s in a high quality top down view. The last glimpse we (supposedly) had of Sony’s worst kept secret in history (is that what makes it exciting? I’m not sure now) was a very fuzzy and obstructed cam video, which could in all honesty have been showing a multicoloured jar of chili sauce for all we could tell.

Sniping On Black Ops: Bite The Bullet

Way back a month or so ago, when sites such as ours were ranting and raving about Black Ops, and all the cool and questionable changes Treyarch were making for the franchise, info emerged that the popular indulgence ‘quickscoping’ was going to be patched out. The CoD audience were cleanly split into two trains of thought; those who thought this was fantastic news because they now stood a chance on the game once again (notice how I said “the game”...it’s just an update....), and those who unashamedly burst into tears or blew up inside, because they had just lost their best friend on Call Of Duty.

The BBC Tackles Gaming

The BBC’s (British Broadcasting Corporation) long running and respected current affairs documentary programme ‘Panorama’ is turning its attention to the ‘issue of addictive video games’ next Monday on BBC 1. The Panorama team have been talking to young people around school and university age, who play games for up to 20 odd hours a day, drawing the rest of the world’s attention to a very unfair and poor sample of our beloved industry.

GT5 Not Quite Perfect Yet

Emperor Gran Turismo, Kazunori Yamuachi, only yesterday held his hands up to fans informing them that the damage system on GT5 will be getting a patch at some point in December (not again with ambiguity, argh!), giving players customizable damage levels and doing some general tweaking to the mechanics.

Inception Game On The Way

Kingpin of the movie world Christopher Nolan, has today confirmed that he is indeed involved with a video game based around the universe of his blockbuster movie Inception. As of now there is no word on what platforms it will be coming out on, but we’d place our bets on it arriving on most of them. Similarly we don’t know when to expect it to be released, but Nolan was quoted saying “I always imagined Inception to be a world where a lot of other stories could take place” which does reveal that this is NOT just a videogame regurgitation, and rather original material.

First Sneak Peek At Uncharted 3 Coming Soon?

Yeah I’m excited too. According to sources at Kotaku, Drake’s third adventure is set for a first ever reveal (of some sort), next month at the Spike VGA awards. Whether this is going to simply be a trailer with some cut scenes showcasing where the loveable PS3 icon is headed next, or a teaser trailer saying...um...not much, we couldn’t say. But gameplay footage is probably gonna be a no no this early on, because the game is due out Q4 2011.

GT5 Climbs Over Call Of Duty: Black Ops In The UK Charts

Polyphony Digital’s “real driving simulator” has done it. It has found its way to the top of the UK charts, standing on the head of the mighty titan that is Black Ops. While for some this will be no big surprise as they consider GT5 a more than good enough reasons to buy a PS3 from scratch, and have been patiently sniffing at this title for the best part of...what...3,000,000 years?
